During this isolation, I would be interested in suggestions of great movies you like. High Fidelity, of course.....
Dinah Washington, have you listened to her? She is awesome...nothing like these female singers of that era... nothing....today's music all sucks, none of it is worth buying imo.
New speakers but old Rotel Amp A sugden class A integrated would pair nicely with the Harbeths. SS, but sound like tubes.
Speakers which always sound good Tannoys! Pick up a pair, asap! 🙄
Your most indispensable "tweak"? Dedicated Apollo turntable shelf, mass loaded Atacama speaker stands, QED biwire speaker cables, Audioquest NRG power outlet, Niagara conditioner, 20 amp dedicated circuit, AQ thunder power cable. Recently, Origin Live Gravity One record weight, y...
What's the most overrated or overpriced piece of equipment you own, have owned or come by? Everything I own was well worth the discounted price I paid. I seldom settle for paying the full price for anything. 90% of what I own was bought brand new. Some of it 30 years old or more, and still working. My Tannoys I bought at a great price, ...
Best "Bang for the Buck" you have owned? My 1983 aiwa ad f770 cassette deck. Paid $550 for it brand new 38 years ago, still kicking like day one! Only thing I’ve had to do was change belts....not fun, but worth it. I play it all the time. A beautiful machine, and back then, before it’s t...

A Couple Little Things I'm Wondering About My cables are draped across my wall to wall carpet and my system sounds great to me. As far as plugging unused rca jacks, I don't see how it could make much if any detectable/audible difference. Waste of money if you ask me. I'd put the money towa...
Power Conditioners Audioquest Niagara 1200 is the best! Don't have to mortgage house to get one and it works! Very black back ground and the music leaps from my speakers. I hear what I hear, your results may differ....
How much overhang is ok between a speaker base and the stand top plate? Atacama in the UK makes nice stands in an abundance of sizes. I've used them for years....
Dedicated Vinyl system next upgrade? As in a previous response, buy records from 50' & 60's and some from early 70's... also grab the record Dr record cleaner machine...it works great if u don't mind spinning the record manually. Buy a good cleaning fluid to go with it, non alcoh...
Power Conditioners I’ll second the Audioquest Niagara 1200, it was worth every penny. I use the Audioquest thunder high current power chord for my amp, and the rest are all Audioquest X3’s. The Niagara is plugged into the wall socket via a Audioquest Z3 power cable....
Wall mounting on studs It would be a lot less work to just attach some thick pieces of wood to where the studs actually are located and then attach the shelf to the piece(s) of wood. |
