| Concurrent use of balanced and unbalanced outputs: Lamm L1 If using a Lamm preamp, there appears to be no advantage to using the XLR outputs as the preamp is only single-ended. If you want to use balanced connections from the preamp I would seek a different preamp. | |

| Why Single-Ended? Yes! It brings the shield into play as part of the signal. IOW its not just for shielding any more. As soon as that happens, then the cable imposes considerably more artifact. |
