Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
"REL's top subs" means Studio III, Stentor III, or Stadium III and the current Reference series. The Storm 3 was quite popular also and part of the ST series. I like the small footprint of the Storm 3. This is a battle I'm now having. Thee Rel ...
Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
m-db To be fair the most expensive and finely crafted British made Studio III was the oldest sub in the comparison.I have considered adding a second Storm 3. However, the price they want is near to what I can buy a new SVS. And, the Storm is ...
Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
Seems I just read that the Storm 5 was never sold in the US because of its poor performance. IIRC, it was at the time when Rel was 1st sold by the original owner. The Britania model was sold instead. I don't remember all the details.
Subwoofer speaker outputs to increase efficiency
How did you end up in this situation? I considered a 7 watt SET but thought my room too big. Seems like SET is a midrange dream. My current amp has a SET output option. But I stick with Pentode. Thats me though. Your tastes may be towards the midr...
Opinions on Marantz tt42p ?
With all due respect, this TT is not for anyone who is serious about getting into vinyl. It is meant to appeal to the  nostalgia of vinyl. Or the one who has some old records he /she wants to digitize and think this is the route to go. With all th...
Need Help with Motor/Battery for Teres 340
Good News. Chris Brady returned my email last night. It was a quick response I might add, which is good for us Teres owners. He said that the lights flashing is normal and that they had  always done so but I just hadn't noticed. Duh. My bad. I had...
Need Help with Motor/Battery for Teres 340
BTW, FWIW, for you Certus /Verus drive guys. The lights in the belt drive indicate when the motor has come up to steady speed. A steady green light indicates a steady 33 1/3 RPM. The red light comes on at start up and then goes out when the green ...

Thanks for your input Maxson. I thought there was a change to transmission fluid but wasn't sure. Did you reach Chris at Chris@Teresaudio.com ?
Need Help with Motor/Battery for Teres 340
OK. So I tried a new battery. The lights on the motor still flicker just as they did previously. I was really hoping this would be the fix. I've been fighting a sinus infection with headaches so I have only played one record. I didn't hear any slo...
Need Help with Motor/Battery for Teres 340
Lak. I will do my best to keep the info I get available. I haven't done much yet since it was Memorial day weekend and I awoke yesterday with a sore throat etc. The pharmacist suspects allergies. So I didn't get the Dayquill which I went after. An...

To Power Condition or Not to Power Condition?
I was an early Pangea user and praised them highly on AA. I tried the AC 14 1st and then the AC 9. Then they came out with the 2nd 14 ga. Neither of the 14's sounded as good on my CDP (Theta Miles) as the AC 9 I'll surely try the new generation. I...
So how many people are using subwoofers
Wow! I just stumbled across this. I'm amazed that this thread was picked up after such a long period. If you look, my original post was made 03-21-2002 6:59pm . That's 14 years ago.Not complaining. But my system has come a long way sincee then. Ye...
To Power Condition or Not to Power Condition?
Thanks for all the replies so far. One poster has pointed out that the Dectet has  separate outlets so one can separate the digital from the analog which is something I want. I've also heard good things about the BC Thingy. i haven't had time to r...
To Power Condition or Not to Power Condition?
Pete, I suppose surge protection is at least preferable since we get thunder/lightning storms here in the summer. I haven't heard of the products you mention but I will check them out. ThanksJohn, I'd actually forgotten about Alan Mahers products....
