Thoughts on Active/Passive Speakers? Looking for pros and cons.
Concerning the OP  Paradigm Founder Series 120H, they are basically 3-way with built-in sub, so I wouldn't say these speakers are active in the traditional sense.

^^^ If done right active can sound good but the complexity is probably not worth it.  You will need external amp and dedicated ADC per channel which won't come cheap.  Most people won't put up with all that external equipment.  Cheap miniDSP stuff...

Well if all cables sound the same then God probably did something wrong.

Active has a lot of limitations.  And not only that the complexity is not worth it.  For low end to mid fi, may make some sense.  But high end will always be passive.
testing a crossover
The mid xover is a bandpass network and tweeter is high pass network which means if you measure the resistance, it should read "infinite resistance" or something very high.  It's interesting that both left and right channel all read 0ohm.As for th...

Reading to figure out 2+2=4? Now if they got a paper on how to measure soundstage then maybe they got something interesting to read.
What do we hear when we change the direction of a wire?
OP probably never heard of "phase".

Do I really need a "paper" to tell me cables sound different?  Definitely a waste of time.
Morrow Audio related to Audiogon? Why so many emails?
Why are they always 40% off? Maybe they are 40% more expensive to start with.
Why don't more recordings have soundstage outside of speakers
The fundamental question I have is that if the original recording only mixes the soundstage within the speaker boundary, then can your system playback have a soundstage that is beyond the speakers?
In term of construction, what's the difference between cheap vs. expensive power cables
I got a question for you guys.  If we use silver speaker cables, the sound will tend to sound a bit on the bright side right. What if you use a silver power cable, will the sound be bright as well?

exercise in futility going through puberty can tough eh?
Electrical circuit "noise"
Hi OP,Out of curiosity, how do you "disaggregate" all the jumble of noise from different appliances?  Is it in the frequency response signature? How do you detect early sign of failure?  Appliances usually don't fail.  I mean our refrigerator, wash...

After reading through a few of your posts it’s pretty obvious that you don’t have much of a clue about Audio. I guess you do.  Maybe you can educate the rest of us, young Luke?

Give him a break.  With only 16 posts, I mean he's just going through puberty.
