Long lost songs
Still looking for help on this one. It's the last one on my "only heard it once" search list: Can someone help?Heard the song once about 12 years ago, maybe.Sounded like Phil Collins or Peter Gabriel; but I doubt it was one of them. Some of the wo...
Help Picking a turntable
I want to thank @gasherbaum for posting the final outcome. So many OPs do not. If anyone stumbles across this while researching their own journey, I have a few suggestions.First, a real good set of headphones helps when your schlepping around for ...
Who makes budget speaker cables which are truly “good” or “exceptional” in quality?
For years I was quite happy with Auvio 12 AWG premuim speaker wire ($0.48/ft; but, alas, no longer widely available). My weakness is that I spend too much time on these forums and eventually give in and buy something of questionable value.Recently...
Problem with Primare I32 Amp
Just in case anyone searches up this old thread; my Primare I32 goes into some sort of protection state when I unplug/re-plug it too many times in a short while. I have to leave it unplugged for about a minute and then re-try.

You got the wrong CD, Geoff. The one I refer to is the IsoTek The Ultimate Sysytem Set-up Disc, which is something of a misnomer, since it ONLY deals with speaker setup. It has 10 tracks, not including introductions, devoted to speaker placement.W...

I bet the IsoTek CD is better. ;^)
Would love some feedback / Denon DL-S1 / phono match / cart recomendations
Holy moley! What is going on here? The OP bought a VPI; so that is that. Now move on to the cartridge.fsmithjack, if your friend is such a great guy, will he let you audition the DL-S1 on your own system? I don't see why you have to buy a pig in a...
Budget Audience Clone?
Zu audio auctions off their older products on ebay. If you are patient and keep bidding what you are willing to spend, eventually you'll win one of these auctions. I had to bid on 5 pairs of 10 ft Libtecs before I got mine for $80 + S&H. I thi...
good integrated amps that don't include a phono section or a DAC
I think Rotel is a great band for the buck company but people say they can be pretty bright with the wrong speakers. I never thought so.I the used market I can vouch for Primare, Creek (especially the CLASSIC 5350SE),and Belles Aria. I also loved ...
How to pick a COMPATIBLE phono cartridge
I don't think 0.4mV is all that low to begin with. It's the same output as a Denon DL-301 and people hook them up to all sorts of phono stages with impunity. Why let your phono stage hamstring your cartridge choice? Get something like a Musical Sur...

+1 @smer319 @tomcarr, I believe that is the most common convention in manufacturers' documentation; but it surly is counter-intuitive. ;^)

I'm getting a little confused. It seems to me that some posters are referring to the wall behind the speakers as the back wall and some are referring to it as the front wall. Also, wouldn't rear ported speakers require a much different approach th...

Most satisfying system change in 2017?
Man!  I just realized that the only things in my system that were not changed are my speakers and universal disc player. The most satisfying award is a tie between a Primare I32 upgrade and a $35 CD that guided me to position my speakers in a manne...
