Suggestion on XLR Cables
I figure enough "burn-in" has taken place to compare the Gotham PUR/Amphenol XLRs (I paid $35 on the Bay) to the Zu Missions (List $215 I think; but I paid $46.50).I do believe I can tell a difference; that it's not bias or unbelievably short audi...

Primare I32
Here's a fire starter: Analog is as good as SACD
Update:I upgraded to a Musical Surroundings Phonomena II. It is a significant improvement over the Emotiva with some cartridges; not so much with others. The Denon DL-301 II is back on top now. I'm very disappointed that the Hana is not able to ke...
Suggestion on XLR Cables
@gdhal  and @muses,I miswrote in my previous post. My Belden/Neutric cables are actually Gotham PUR/Amphenol. I plan on doing a closer comparison with the Zus in the near future. Zu always recommends 250 to 400 hours to burn in the dielectric on n...
Suggestion on XLR Cables
I thought that XLR cables, since they were originally designed for runs much, much longer than usually found in home stereo systems, were the least quality dependent of all the ICs.That being said, I recently upgraded from Belden/Neutric generics ...
Opening a can of worms
If it takes 400 hours to burn in a cable, shouldn't the risk free return period be 3 years? And how/when would I compare it to a cable that requires no or very little burn in.The second question is dead serious.
Do you listen mainly to Audiophile CDs and records?
I tend to listen to better recordings of good music more often than good music recorded poorly; but I've found some real jewels among my old LPs once they are cleaned up and played on the system I have now vs. the one I had in 1980.Similar experie...

Long lost songs
I picked up a mint copy of the Left Banke's first album, Walk Away Renee/Pretty Ballerina at a craft fair.
Another soundstage question
@wolf_garcia , I got the joke and appreciated it.@kosst_amojan, 'A mic that's low will make something seem high...'What a revelation! Of course that would be true. As long as my soundstage has a nice vertical field, I'll accept the centering of th...
Mid grade Integrated amp choices
I was committed to the Belles Soloist until I heard a Primare I32. The new I35 is reported to be audibly better.
