Wifi ethernet jack recommendation

I am setting up a new room and I have a long list of tasks. Rather than run Ethernet or fiber right now, I was thinking of using a wifi endpoint with an Ethernet jack. Several folks on the forum have stated that they work well. I may wire up later, but in the meantime, any recommendations for a specific model that you have used and works well for audio?

There may be some advantages of using a Mesh system over a Wi-Fi extender if your system is far from your router and/or your Wi-Fi is shared by others, and some people seem to think it sounds better but I have no insight there.  If it’s in budget I’d go with Mesh.  Just some thoughts FWIW.

I have tried a number of Netgear and TP-Link extenders and mesh. They all have worked very well and I could not tell the difference between any of them. Although the Ethernet cable can make a difference. I have very good streamers and a great system… no need for me to wire things up.

Mesh network should be a nice solution. I’m using EERO and it is rock solid.

Thanks for the responses. I forgot to mention that I am using an Amplifi mesh system already, unfortunately they do not make a mesh link with an Ethernet connection. Hence the WiFi direction.

Wifi can work well but apartment buildings and closely packed condos can pose challenges due to too many routers in the neighborhood.  Having at least a dual band router can help too.

Get a free Wifi analyzer for your phone or tablet to ensure the location you plan to use has a strong signal and that the channel your router is on is not congested by neighbors.
