聖HIJIRI Users thread

Based on a discussion with another forum member, I've been reading up on this Comback Corporation brand. The reviews I've found have been pretty positive, but I've also learned over the years to take all reviews with a grain of salt. So the purpose of this thread is for users to share their input on 聖HIJIRI cables. When you share, if you'd discuss what model of HIJIRI you demoed and what brands/models they were compared to, that'd be very helpful.

A little background: a few years ago I was reading the Audio Envy threads and decided to give them a try as the seemed to compete with much higher-priced cable.  So I decided to give AE a try. I found both the $179 P2 and the $279 M3 to easily best an Isotek power cord at $1k. So that got me thinking even more about value products. I was about to give Zavfino a try and then was given another recommendation to give HIJIRI a try. So this is how I got here. I'll be very interested to hear all user comments on HIJIRI and this should be a good repository for the brand.

Here is their website: www.combak.net

Perhaps you should work on your reading comprehension, then. There is nothing there that would warrant such an inference on your part. If the cable didn't work for me, I would have sent it back, plain and simple, just as I did with the aforementioned speakers.

I guess you and me are different. I could not care less about reviews (unless I respect the reviewer) or flowery website descriptions. I have always been more interested in actual owner experience, especially if the owners are audiophiles with an extensive track record whose tastes more or less align with my own. That's it. But by all means, you do you. Just don't assume that anyone here owes you an explanation, especially when you're handing out insults. Try it, don't try it. Whatever. But get off your high horse.

Again, I see nothing in the products description that would/should warrant chancing so much money.

Also, these days I can't afford a high horse, but I do have a nice little dog.

I will bow out of this conversation.

Wow, I was here just over an hour ago and then come back and the thread just blew up. I understand your pessimistic view ozzy, I do. But you have certainly made it known in a number of posts - your questioning of grannyring's integrity, as waltersalas said, is uncalled for (I don't know walter at all, just agree with his statement). It would be better that you take this to IM if you still feel strongly about it. BTW, I've read many of your comments over the years and they were useful, please return to that type of commentary. Let's keep it cordial and I thank all for that.

In terms of cost, there are two Hijiri lines and your comments are directed towards the upper line. The Millions line Takumi is around $5,300 for 1.5M power cord but the Performance line Nagomi is around $1,350 for 1.0M power cord. Two or three people have mentioned that getting money back was not a problem and I have no reason to doubt that. At this point you could try calling Colin @ gestalt and see if you are comfortable doing a trial. It does seem that you are quite interested by what you've read here. BTW, I don't know Colin at all, just know his name because of several here in this thread. I do think that I'll be giving him a call sometime in the future because it seems that Hijiri is what I'm looking for.

I knew, before I started this thread, that Gestalt Audio were dealers for Hijiri. I just wanted to gather more info and user experience on this cable line. As was mentioned by another, I too care about the folks on this forum. I've learned a good bit here over the years.

I hope this thread will be helpful for others besides myself and for those with doubts, for whatever reason, they can choose to look elsewhere. IM is a tool that is there for all of you. So if you have things that you'd like a poster to clarify, then go that way. It is preferable to calling someone out or insulting them, really uncalled for. So, let's get back to the happy sharing of info that we come here to exchange.

@pokey77 , nice post.  @ozzy , I apologize as I think I assigned ill intent when it would have been best for me to simply say this. I understand how you could be perplexed when others make purchase decisions not within your wheelhouse of comfort. I get that. Sorry.
