CD player as a transport

If you could choose a CD player to use as a transport, which would you choose, and why would you choose it. Used is fine, under $350 is my budget
My Hint6 has a nice dac onboard

A Pioneer stable platter transport. They clamp the CD tightly. You insert the CD upside down.

Big problems getting laser for those now.

Get a transport that uses a still obtainable Philips laser mech, forget slot loaders, they are cheap computer mechs.

None. There’s a Bluesound Vault available here for $450 you can just load all your CDs into and get off the dying single-disc transport merry go round for good. This Vault also comes with 266 gigs of music already stored in it so you’d be getting a ton of free music in the bargain. Of course if getting up to search for and play one CD at a time blows your skirt or is your preferred form of exercise then the old transport is the only way to go. If, however, having all your CDs available to you from your chair and able to be played in any order while never having to worry about failing lasers/drive mechanisms or skipping CDs ever again seems at all appealing then just get the Vault and live happier ever after. Oh yeah, and if you ever wanna dip your toe into the wonderful world of streaming music it does that too. Best of luck.

Could you suggest a player that uses a philips laser
Look for Philips (cdm/vam/vau) here, also Sony (kss) right hand column, but make sure they are still available on line (ebay) for under $100, and in the left column you get the make and model no. of player
