Wireworld Eclipse 8 interconnect - opinions please

Hi guys, I'm in search of opinions about the Wireworld Eclipse 8 interconnect; in particular, is the difference with the Platinum Eclipse 8 remarkable? I need opinions from someone who has compared the two models please.

@audiotroy What about the Gold Eclipse 8 interconnects?
How would they compare to the Silver Eclipse 8?
I already own the silvers throughout my system along with silver eclipse 8 speaker cables and while really detailed and open they can sound harsh at high volumes with female vocals.
Was hoping the gold eclipse interconnects would be a tad more mellow but still retain that detail. Not as sharp/crisp sounding highs (Closer to the Eclipse 8 sound but more detailed)

@hifiman5 I'll try to control the connectors (confirm the tight grip, positive attribute of the connectors) on the preamp section and give more burn-in time. I hope for improvements.

@audphile1 My impression is similar; a sound that is surely fast, but lean and dry.

OP…interconnects usually settle within 200hrs enough to show their character. What someone else hears in a context of their system is only a general idea at best. If you have dark sounding components adding cables that sound lean will bring out more details. If your system is pretty transparent and is already more or less neutral, these cables can tip the scale towards what you’re currently hearing.
Trust your ears.

I tried several wireworld power cables and their usb cable. Fast, lean and detailed is the house sound as far as I can tell.

I'm trying the Eclipse 8 rca but it seems to be a bit dry and lacks dynamic, bass is too lean.

Hmmm, not my experience at all with these cables, though I am using XLR’s. After 200 hours I would not expect much more change.

@iani  I use the Purist Audio Disc for burn-in as well.  Try leaving the cables still and untouched as you put the Purist Audio disc on repeat. It would be interesting to hear how things sound after that.
PS I find Wireworld RCA connectors to be very tight (good thing). Just be sure they are FULLY inserted into the female jacks.

@hifiman5  I have used the Eclipse 8 for about 200 hours, I tried on two different sources,  Pioneer PD-D9 MKII and Audio Analogue Maestro 24-192. After your words, I will try to use the Purist Audio Disc for burn-in, in search for improvements. The sound is unbalanced, very strange, considering that I used in the past the Straight Wire Maestro (David Salz patent) and I love them.

@iani  Have you given them time to settle into your system?  I have Wireworld interconnects and speaker cables in my system and they need some time in the system to fully open up.  Please be patient…yes I know that’s a silly thing to say to an audiophile.  All the best!

I am delighted with my Eclipse 8 interconnects. I use. Them between my phono preamp and my preamp.

Thanks for the answers; it seems that the family sound remain the same. I'm trying the Eclipse 8 rca but it seems to be a bit dry and lacks dynamic, bass is too lean.

I read everywhere great reviews of the Series 8, so I was a bit in confusion.

I use a platinum 8 on the digital for added resolution ,and regular eclipse to amp

speaker cables the eclipse are all 6-9s copper ,which is nice but you can get better detail but more neutral in sonics.

I just switched from Eclipse 8 to Gold Eclipse 8 and the amount of information did improve, most notable was just more transparency, speed and top end detail. I replaced the connection from Dac to Legacy Wavelet II and from Wavelet II to Coda s5.5 amp. All are XLR.

Following. I am using the base model Eclipse 8’s and I am also curious about performance going up the chain.

we are a  longtime Wireworld dealer

As you go up to the higher models you can clearly hear the difference the eclipse is a decent performer for the price, the silver eclipse is more detailed and the platinum is even clearer

we have tested a lot of cables Audioquest, Nordost Snake river, harmonic tech, acoustic zen and a few more we chose Wireworld as their cables are excellent across their line and beat more expensive cables from Aq and Nordost
