Wilson Sasha V

In two days Wilson Audio will announce the new Sasha V.  Previews show the major changes are to the tweeter, midrange and top plate of the woofer section which will now have V material.  The new Sasha V will also include the new isolation spike designed with V material.

On the one hand, I love the sound of my Sasha DAWs.  I’ve only had them for about a year and now my audio neurosis will kick in making me wonder what I am missing out on with the new speaker.  On the other hand, I applaud Wilson Audio for continuing to work to advance the state of the art.  That’s the sign of a healthy business.

The updated midrange in the Sasha V is the same used in Wilson’s top models.  Kudos to Wilson making their top midrange available at a lower price point.

I would love to hear the new Sasha V. But I will not be buying anything soon. I told my wife I was done, but she didn’t believe me. I can’t buy anything for a while just to prove her wrong.

They actually look like the droids, Huey, duey and Louie from Bruce Derns masterpiece “silent running”. I’d love a pair.

Well the good thing about Wilson is they hold resale value well.

The Sasha DAW is more colored than the Sasha V. I was not impressed with the DAW & went to a YG instead. The Sasha V is more neutral with a much more natural midrange and more sparkle in the highs.

Crossover also improved it’s not an evolution but a revolution compared to the old DAW. Driver tech has made a quantum leap improvement in Wilson the past 3 years. I would replace your DAW in a heartbeat. I am seriously considering the V myself since the next level up YG is 65k for a Hailey 3.2 and these are cheaper at 45 grand.

+1

If I spend anymore of my kid's inheritance they might lock me up.

Being a Star Wars fan I enjoy looking at the two R2D2 units in my listening room.  Turns out they were the droids I had been looking for.

maybe they could change the design to something pleasant looking. (for my taste)

They're constantly changing their speakers. You could go broke trying to keep up.
