Which media player for lossless music

Personally, I've tried JRiver and own MediaMonkey lifetime licenses and I much prefer Roon.

The user interface in Roon is made to actually play music, while JRiver and MM feel like they want to overwhelm you with options and data.

I now only use MM when I am ripping new CDs.

foobar2000 open source is all the $$ you should spend for PC sound.

I use foobar2000 also.  It may not be as intuitive as other options out there, but it does the job and has a fairly simple and easy to use interface and there are many free plug-ins available.  The price is right.

I have heard of Foobar2000 but did give it much attention. I have tried JRiver and I think it is overwhelming with features just like erik said. 

I've used both Jriver and Foobar and prefer JRiver for ease of setup for  audio. JRiver does have significantly more features that you'll likely never use or need but you can easily ignore them. JRiver has 30 day free trial period so it wouldn't hurt to give it a shot.

Foobar2000 is AMAZING if you configure it properly. It uses far less resources. It is fast and efficient. And best of all - it is free.

Also the next link is for Eole skin for Foobar. That skin will make you feel as if you spent $200 on a audio player! It is free.
And finally, to remote control Foobar, I use MonkeyMote from apple on an ancient ipad2 mini. The app ,loads up pretty fast and allows you to do everything that you want sitting on the listening chair, while your PC/laptop is on the audio rack.

I tried another paid software for 30 days(trial version) and for me, Foobar with Eole/Monkeymote beats it hands down.
