Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Budgie - "Bandolier" - From the "way back machine". My sister had this on 8-Track back in 1975 and I used to listen to it on our console system. Still love it today.

Any of you guys familiar with this power trio out of the UK?
Porcupine Tree / Stupid Dream

reubent, I've never heard of them. Is it prog?
@boxer12 - Regarding Budgie: I would call them early heavy prog. Kind of like a heavy power trio, but prog progressions and lyrics. You can listen to "Bandolier", as well as many of their other albums, on YouTube.

Here's one track off of "Bandolier" for you to check out: "Napoleon Bona Part One" and "two"

Listen to the whole 7 minutes as the are a few changes of pace, etc. Like many prog songs.... Let me know what you think.
Future Bible Hero's / Memories

Reubent, Thanks, I'll give it a listen & let you know
Reubent,
That was good. I really like the way it starts out. Thanks for the reference.
@boxer12 - You're welcome. That's why we're here. Well, at least the music geeks. Can't speak for the equipment geeks........ BTW, I use geek as an endearing term. I consider myself a proud one.....
The cranberries "everybody else is doing it, so why can't we"
      ****the analog spark is an excellent pressing****

depech mode "violator"
violent femmes, self titled

Music from Big Pink-don't know anything about the providence of the vinyl. Marked 1971 by the used record peddler.
So last week my copy of The Nightfly MFSL One Step showed up that I found on Discogs for a pretty reasonable price. It is phenomenal and was mint.
Today I get back from San Diego and my wife shows me that my dogs ate the cover while I was gone. :(
At least the vinyl is ok

Andrew Bird  - Armchair Apocrypha  - incredible record, so so vinyl
@n80
I see some really high prices on some of the previous One Step records but there are other more reasonably priced copies if you shop well.
But as much as I love those stupid dogs I want to take out two of them right now. I guess it would only effect resale price and I can't see myself letting any of the one steps go so I shouldn't get worked up too much but I do try to baby my records and for F sake I didn't even have it for a full week and is the most expensive single record I have purchased in a while!

The National  - Sleep Well Beast  - not Boxer (as far as the performance) but it is a great sounding recording and pretty darned good pressing. Crazy super low end
Rush - Moving Pictures - reissue 200g  - this was played (LOUDLY). The 200g reissues are awesome, can't believe I don't have them all.

Springsteen  - Born to Run  - VG copy of the Columbia 1980 half speed mastered
@reubent

Back to your Budgie discussion. I had If I Were Britanica I'd Waive the Rules for a while years ago. I remember thinking of it as a secret little gem that most folks didn't know about. I think they even reissued it on vinyl.
65 Goat,

Awesome! I always felt I had a secret band in my stash that no one knew. I Have "Bandolier", "If I Were Britannia, I'd Waive the Rules" and "Squak". Love them all. I should complete the discography, just for the fun of it...
@6t5-gto - BTW, judging you by your user name, I'll bet you would like the song "Shiny, Shiny" off of The Rainmakers album - "The Good News and the Bad News". Check it out on Youtube, Spotify, etc.....
@reubent

I will give them a run on Spotify as I have not listened to them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Nick Drake - Pink Moon  - reissue. Very good
slaw, I'm fairly new to Neko but really starting to enjoy Fox Confessor and Middle Cyclone. How do you feel "Hell On" compares musically with those? I've previewed it but no serious listening yet.
@n80,

Hi. Here’s the long version.... I own two copies of "Middle Cyclone". One is black vinyl & the other is clear vinyl, The clear is slightly more open. Compared to "Fox Confessor....", I think "MC" is not quite as open. "FC" has tons of air. They both are great lps in terms of content. "Hell On" is IMO, much better than her last, "The Worse Things Get...", in fact I’d say it may be her (best) for content? SQ is very good although somewhat inconsistent. One’s set-up/room will be critical to hear "HO" at it’s best. If you haven't already, check out  the Case,Lang,Veirs lp.
…………………………………………………..

Thea Gilmore "The Counterweight" 45rpm Excellent!
I hadn’t listened to Joss Stone in a while but she can sound eerily similar to a young Bettye LaVette.
…………………………………………

In keeping with the time of year.....

The Edgar Winter Group "They Only Come Out at Night"
Johnny & Edgar Winter "Together"
Buffalo Springfield "Again" mono/box set

The SQ on this Buffalo Springfield Box, IMO is excellent. I haven't heard the entire box, just the monos of 1&2.
@slaw - "They Only Come Out at Night" is one of my first LP purchases back in the day. I still have my original copy......... And it is beat! Can't bring myself to replace it. The cove has huge ring marks on the back cover, the record is beat and the cover has mildew on it. But, it's an original from back in my Jr. High school days, so I keep it.

@boxer12,

I assume your music posts are lps, right? I’m wondering where you find these (off the tracks) lps?
……………………………..
I bought a copy of Buffalo Springfield "Again" around 3 years ago that was marked as a 1st pressing. It was/is one of THE worst sounding lps I now own. It has a solid yellow ATCO label. Of course, now I know it should have had the tri-colored label.
Yes "The Yes Album" 45rpm/box/Friday Music !

Up next... The Outlaws "In The Eye of the Storm"
