Hey Greg.  How’s The Eraser sound?

Dave Mason & Cass Elliot

@mammothguy54 do you have this record Joel?  It’s got fairly muddy SQ but the songs are really good I think.  From a time period that I know you like.

@spiritofradio @tomic601 @reubent @boxer12  Thanks for your openness.

For me, it's important to respect this thread's rai·son d'ê·tre. There's a 'sacred' aspect to vinyl and vinyl based systems which I admire. I do not want to get in the way.

I'll actively follow for the wonderful insights and music suggestions, etc. and might pop in every now and then. I hope you understand.

David,

Completely respect your decision & hope you feel free to stop by anytime!

@david_ten

hmm, I think you should just get a record machine and a cool phono stage with tubes in it (fancy wire totally optional).  Play cosmic music with us til the cows come home.

Orlando Cachaito Lopez - "Cachaito"

Cuban Jazz. Buena Vista Social Club Presents...

James, the Eraser is a used copy I just picked up, but in pretty nice shape. It is sounding great!

Thanks Greg.  Need to spend more time with that guy.  So many records, so little time.

@spiritofradio

James, yes I do have that album of Dave Mason & Cass Elliot.  The SQ is just OK, as you stated.  The music is quite good and I am glad that I have it.

I can only imagine what Cass Elliot would have delivered had she not died so young.  What a sad situation and a crying shame for such a loss.

@spiritofradio James - The Eraser doesn't sound much like Radiohead, other than the vocals of course.  It's mostly electronic, but it's a nice spin.  Maybe stream it first and make sure its for you.

Schumann

Concerto in A Minor for Piano and Orchestra

The Philadelphia Orchestra

Eugene Ormandy, Conducting

Rudolf Serkin, Piano

1981 version of an often reissued, much earlier (1948 Mono?) Columbia recording.

Franck

Symphony in D Minor (his only symphony)

The Philadelphia Orchestra

Eugene Ormandy, Conductor

From the same 1981 compilation, this of a 1961 Columbia recording.

Tchaikovsky

Suite from Swan Lake

The Philadelphia Orchestra

Eugene Ormandy, Conducting

From the same 1981 compilation, this of a 1974 RCA recording.

Tony Bennett - Snowfall   Now that's a title I like!

Guys, please keep it spinning and enjoy the music.  I'm heading north for Mammoth Mountain in the morning to ski for the rest of this week.  4 to 6 feet just fell over the past 2 days and the mountain is prime.  The long-range forecast calls for many more feet over the next 3 weeks.  I'll be back up right after New Years.  And many more trips to follow this winter.  Finally, we have a real winter for California.  Man, do we need the water.  And man, do I need the skiing.  COVID put that to rest for me last year.  I AM READY!

Enjoy the music...

Hey Guys, it's my 6000th post! Only took 21 years to achieve, and just over a year since I reached the 5000 post milestone.

So, what's a man to do for his 6000th post? Post the latest LP to be put on the TT to the best thread on AudiogoN, of course!

Without further ado, I present to you...

Pete Townshend - "White City"

I see your Pete Townshend and raise you....

Brian Eno - Another Green World

(on my Sony PS-X50 with brand new to night Rega Ania MC cartridge... Woot Woot)

@tunehead  - Welcome to the best thread on AudiogoN! Congrats on the new cartridge. How's it sounding of you?
