Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Diamond Head - Canterbury, by far the best Diamond head album, an album that deserves a lot more credit than it gets and an album I never tire of listening to.

@slaw

I am actually disappointed in Courtney’s latest.

Thanks for the response. I'll stream it first before making a decision. Would be unhappy to waste $25, and precious shelf space, if it's not good.

@slaw how's the MMJ? I keep hearing Love, Love, Love on inde radio, but nothing else.

Bloomfield/Kooper/Stills - Super Session

@sbank

The new MMJ has exceeded my expectations by a big margine. I highly recommend it!

@bslon +1 for The God Fathers. I had that on cassette when it first came out. Back when my "listening room" was my car.  Saw them live in support of that record as well. I'm going to discogs now to see what's available.

@sourpuss123 I listened to all four sides of the Godfathers last night, couldn't stop!    Wish I'd bought their other two LP's back in the day. Hope you score on Dcogs.

Some good stuff you guys have been listening to.  Yes, The Tubes were a great band.  Fee Waybil was an accrobat on stage and the music was a blast.  I saw them 3 times between 1974 - 1976.

I had no idea how my mention of wallpaper removal wouls spark so many, very funny, comments.

listened to a few again last night, mostly those which I recently purchased.  Have to do that before filing them.

10cc "The Original Soundtrackk"

Muddy Waters "Folk Singer"

Roxy Music  "Avalon"

Pink Floyd  "A Momentary Lapse of Reason"

Heading up to Mammoth Mountain in the morning for a few days of early season skiing.  No vinyl, but some great fun!  I'll be back to my system on Thursday.

Happy listening...

Tom Petty - Wildflowers & All The Rest. Warner Records reissue/remaster 2LP gatefold 2020

holy crap....this album with the Treo's.....🙀

Steve,

Which version of Hunky Dory (that you've heard) is recorded best?

Barn Owl / V

The Beatles - Revolver. Apple Records reissue 1975, originally 1966

....... yep @boxer12  it's fun going through some of my fav LP's, and listening to differences with the Treo's.

Pink Floyd-DSOTM 2016 Grundman RE

Steely Dan-The Royal Scam 1976 ABC

Anyone else ever noticed how infrequently the Beatles are mentioned in this thread? Odd isn't it?

It kinda goes in waves. But I must admit, I'm probably one to post more Beatles selections than most here. 🙂 Probably as many of us got over saturated with their LP's 'back in the day'.  Still good stuff regardless, just like the old Dead stuff. I like listening/watching Steve Guttenberg go on in his YouTube videos about still listening to the Beatles regularly. I feel much the same as he does.

The Byrds - Fifth Dimension. Columbia reissue 1971, originally 1966

Same year Revolver was released

+1 Brian

Barr Brothers / 2011

This is a great band that certainly flew (or flies / not sure) below the radar. I suspect many of you would like them. Have a bit of an alt-country vibe to them.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse - Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere. Reprise reissue early 70's, originally 1969

We must be on the same wavelength tonight Brian.

Neil Young - Harvest Moon.
