Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1

Ubu sounds fantastic. This album, along with the Modern Lovers self titled release, really screwed up my musical taste back in my ‘college dorm exposure to new music’ days.

Modern Dance is really incredible
@jerryg123

Oh don’t remind me. I had Television’s Marquis Moon. Silly me, sold it to get some jazz albums in the mid-80’s. That LP goes for a fortune today. Live and learn…..to never sell your vinyl. 😄
Same here on the Dead, a couple Warner Bros. 180g reissues in the mix is all.
Steve - I have MFSL 45 rpm of American Beauty, Workingmans and Blues for Allah , nothing but digital to compare to

I do agree that finding a good spot to split Terrapin is problematic at best…great trippy side that it is….i have always thought it had a layer of grunge in it….

Brian - Congrats on the Treo for sure, i am guilty as charged !,,,,
Joan Armatrading "S/T"
Intervention Records

as I recall, this is an Ex record!
Brian,
Fabulous!  Congratulations!  Those speakers sound really good.
Enjoy them in great health.
The Joan Armatrading lp is strong,!! At least equal to "Breaking Silence", in terms of songwriting and performance, .... pretty close in SQ but not quite equal to "BS" in overall transparency and dynamics.
@mammothguy54  @slaw

Thanks guys. It will be strange not having my beloved 2CE Sigs in my room, but everyone tells me the Treo’s will provide a level of refinement the 2’s cannot match. Can’t wait to find out for myself. Oh, then the fun of placement, tilt, etc. to get them to sound their best.

Can’t believe these showed up locally for an incredible price really. Wasn’t expecting to get ‘new’ speakers before my new preamp arrived.

@slaw

Yep, have had a new Belles Aria Signature preamp on order from Johnny Rutan for over a month. Just talked to him about ETA, and said David is swamped trying to get all his orders out. But it’s coming.

And he also told me I better jump on the Treo’s or he would buy them 😁
Getting back to some vinyl tonight after a couple of evenings of live music. James Taylor and Jackson Browne Wednesday night and Larry Carlton last night.
Don't care for some of the genera but love the Blues and 60s 70s And some 80's rock.. recently had my 15th wedding anniversary so Billy your White Wedding is rockin the house!!! Johnboi in Clallam  Bay Washington...look it up..Fish on!!!
Steve, the Aria Signature does have a phono stage, but I won’t be using that. Even though Johnny says I should try it.
@johnneboi

welcome, we like just about everything around here and don’t dis anybody’s choices.
Well I hope, I'm conveying my feeling... though music, to my friends here.
@big_greg, @slaw

of course

don't mistake my self deprecating humor for limitations on the aspiration and inspiration.
It’s just that, we must admit to ourselves that this is a (minor) form of social media.
I experience great feeling from “my” music and like an isolated captive get impulses to connect, and, like the collegian with dorm room windows flung wide and the Pioneer at 3 o’clock on the dial, even compulsions, to share my music and the experience engendered.

We are not all humble (music) monks are we.

@big_greg  - I saw The Tubes last night. Great show, especially considering Fee Waybill is 70 years old and still plays the character - Quay Lewd and singing "Mondo Bondage" wearing  A$$less leather chaps. Truly a fun rock and roll show...

For vinyl lovers and fans of The Tubes, their live album - "What Do You Want From Live?" is one of my favorite live albums ever! So much fun. Great musicians, on top of their game in 1979...
@slaw  - How is the American Aquarium album? I've only heard a couple of their songs, and liked them quite a bit.
