Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
Boulez conducts Ravel - Daphnis Et Chloé Suite No. 2 / Rapsodie Espagnole / Alborada Del Gracioso. The Cleveland Orchestra. Columbia Masterworks reissue, early 70’s. Originally 1971
PJ Harvey - The Peel Sessions

Another stellar Island repressing. Dead quiet. And Peel’s production is amazing. As usual.
Jethro Tull - Stand Up (Steven Wilson)

Wow. Are you kidding me? This almost brought me to tears. Felt like I went through a time machine and was seeing them live once again. Makes my 70's U.S. pressing sound like a transistor radio.
@middlemass  I am so glad that it worked out well for you.  The Wilson remixes are really quite good.  Example; my 70s U.S. pressing of Aqualung also sounds like a 1960 transistor radio and the Wilson remix is a true high fidelity record.  The same is true for Stand Up and This Was.  My original copy of Passion Play sounds very good, though.  I am waiting for Thick As A Brick to come off of backorder, I need that to complete my Tull collection.

Enjoy!
June Christy ‎– Something Cool (Capitol Records 1954 10" mono)

Sounds better than almost every other record made after 1970.

As we have discussed, the Steven Wilson  remixes of these records are really fun. Don’t bother with the TAAB reissue though. The original is better (if you already have it).

@middlemass  When seeking out the Wilson remix of Aqualung be absolutely certain to get the one that is a very thick Gatefold and has 25 pages of incredible information and pictures inside, bound as part of the package.  I don't know if there is a Wilson remix without that, but if there is be certain to seek out this one.  It is one heck of a keeper for your collection and will keep you busy for hours.  Good luck!

The Pleasure Seekers "What a Way to Die"

I'm a definite fan of Sundazed quality. Great label

The Scud Mountain Boys / Pine box
On the softer side today.

James Taylor  "Flag"  Promo copy, sounds really good.

Sonny Rollins  "Way Out West"  Nicely done remaster.

Getz/Gilberto  AP/QRP 45 rpm.  What depth this recording has!

Elvis  "24 Karat Hits"  AP/QRP 45 rpm.
The Band-Islands.

Yup, I’m THAT much of a fan that I occasionally listen to this album.

Grant Green in the on deck circle.
