Wilco / Kicking television It has been mentioned here before but is worth revisiting... This is an excellent live box set from Wilco. Sound quality is wonderful as well |

Commander Cody Band- Rock & Roll Again |
Steve please ask your buddy if he had a 2a? so far every NOS tube i and a few others have thrown at it has been a solid step backwards...mirror matched clear top RCA from the heyday of Harrison, etc... Andy Bowman provided stuff...but hey, who knows..
on Fremer, he has Hagerman who created BK’s phono commenting, thats imo a good thing...
smoke em if ya got em, roll em ya can |
Joan Armatrading "Show Some Emotion" pp/!!! |
trying out the 4 step Walker Audio RC process this eve, new old wax arrived... Warming up with a reclean of EC - There’s One in Every Crowd.....
|
Steve, that Joan Armatrading album is awesome, especially the title track. I have set up for later (just US cleaned it) her album, 'To The Limit'. Joan is so talented, I bought both of those albums when they first were released. |
Janaki String Trio Young Beethoven String Trio in C Minor Yarlung Records 2020
|
@spiritofradio I guess it's the production. It's somewhat fussy and dense as was noted in reviews at the time. Musically and lyrically, it's not going to change the world but it's pleasant enough.

@mammothguy54 Absolutely, go down the path of isolation and vibration control. It really pays off! I use Symposium Acoustics products both for the platform and the rollerblocks. The two products, when combined, provide a very positive outcome. There is a ton of reading on their website which provides a very good education. Symposium Acoustics (symposiumusa.com) Have fun... Thanks Joel. Yea, I took the Vibrapod Cones I had under my pre, and put them under the Hagerman, just to check it out. Not a tremendous difference, will have to listen more, and perhaps get something just for it. I know the Vibrapod Cones made an incredible difference under my Belles amp. So much so I did a double take. One thing is for sure, this whole rig, with the Trumpet, is sounding really good. I’m not trying to fix something that is broke, that is for sure, just trying to eek out more performance if it is availiable. And Mikey, I’m listening to Joni right now, and it sounds incredible, wonderful, and non-‘excessive’ 😁 Perhaps the Soundsmith Zephyr is simply a better match than any of the Ortofon’s he was using. |
Joni Mitchell - Hejira. Asylum 1976
|
Melissa Etheridge - S/T ( DMM Gold stamped promo, looks minty )
bit bright and forward, i never owned this back in the day but enjoyed hearing cuts on AOR FM stations....
i have a deep pour of Freak Show going......who knows....
Edit: Last three cuts side A very nice....
|
Try the springs. Those cones and spikes don't work as well.
|
@noromance
Yep, I was thinking of getting a set of the Nobsound. Pretty inexpensive.
Check that, just bought a set. |
|
Joe Walsh - But Seriously, Folks...
I'm not sure what to make of this one. It's a Friday records release. The vinyl is super quiet, but it's a little on the hot side. Supposedly Kevin Gray had a hand in the mastering and it's from the original analog tapes. |
Jim "' a bit bright'
I thought I said that?
Elliot heard it different |
Greg
Always liked my pp of "BSF"
Joe Walsh |
@slaw i forgot what you had to say and i wanted to form my own opinion....but good to know we agree..cause i was about to go mess w VTA tower....
its a fun blast from past disc and was like ten bucks....
i spent more on the Freakshow... ha |
Nazareth "Hair of the Dog" |
Jim,
You need to pay more attention to me Ha!!!! |

Ran the Japan pressing of EC - Just One Night thru the 4 step Walker process, good results....not sure worth effort to setup a three new sequential MoFi trial....not an ALL CAPS third person religous experience....but ......too early to decide...
fun |
Leo Kottke - Mudlark. Capitol reissue 1972-74. Originally 1971

Janis Ian - Between the Lines |
Steve, I have a couple of other copies of BSF, including a nice Japan pressing. I think they're more dynamic than the Friday Music pressing. |
|
Greg, how do you compare the pp to the FM?
|
Grateful Dead / Reckoning |
Steve, I'm not sure what "pp" is, at least in the context you're using it. |
|
Holy crap, that Kottke LP kicked serious butt.....
John Lennon - Imagine. Apple 🍏 1971 |
Thanks Steve. It's been awhile since I listened to my Asylum copy but I think both it and the Japan pressing had more dynamic range and a less hot top end. |

Devendra Banhart / Cripple crow |
The Beatles - Rubber Soul. Capitol reissue 1976, originally 1965
.....and no Phil Spector....whew |
@bkeske Try 3 then 4 under your SOTA first. Use # springs in each pod to level table. Because it’s suspended, I’m not sure how it will fare compared to 60 pound slate idler! Also try under Trumpet using one spring per pod. They can also use under speakers.
|
|
@noromance
Oh, these will be for use with the Hagerman only. Seriously, I personally see no point of using anything but the stock feet on the SOTA, which are essential to level the table only, as the sub-assembly suspension (if properly loaded) is so superb already. Nothing going on around the exterior plinth effects the isolated sub-assembly/platter/arm at all. Zilch. Nada.
But, I never thought about the need or desire not to use all the springs on the Trumpet. That makes sense. |
|
no compound springs on a suspended table like a SOTA, a better foot maybe |
Tull - Aqualung ( S Wilson remaster...lovely.... ) |
The Rolling Stones 'Goats Head Soup" |
i think the Hagerman is crying out for mass, then springs...... like a 1/4 or more plate w holes drilled for tubes, granite base and springs.....
Cross Eyed Mary.......freaking rocks..... |
|
All, look at my system page Then get off on springs |
but as i recall Steve your tables lack a spring suspension. your springs are on the lever table hinged from wall. Compound springs on springs in a resonant TT arm cartridge system is a no no. |
How do I respond but I make suggestions that you and others take seriously |
