Sparklehorse, "It's a Wonderful Life"

Egberto Gismonti, "Danca das Cabecas"

Another lp arrived today from the UK, as a result from streaming.

Israel Nash "Rain Plans"   2013/Loose Music

Been streaming Mary Chapin Carpenter/The Dirt & The Stars.

Sounds wonderful! I have the vinyl in now. Should be awesome!

Dave Douglas Quintet - Be Still

lovely record in every way. I’ve had the digital since it came out (actually bought it on iTunes…) but didn’t know it had been mastered for record until Jim posted about it. Thanks Bro!   Nice relatively quiet (not smooth) Jazz renditions of familiar old hymns, with Aoife’s extraordinarily vocals, on perfectly quiet wax, in an art jacket.

@boxer12  +1 for Flying Saucer Attack

If you like FSA, you might be interested in this Movietone Peel Session release that I'm still waiting to receive.  Allegedly released on 28 January.  Like FSA, Movietone were also from Bristol and members of Third Eye Foundation, FSA and Movietone (among others) worked together in each others band.

Lots of great stuff being played on this forum!

Crescent / Resin pockets

Mingus-The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady 2021 Impulse AS series.

It’s just sooo good!

Just arrived….

Modern Jazz Quartet - Concorde. Prestige reissue, unsure when this was released, originally 1955. Sounds awesome.

A clean record.

I just listened to Journey Escape...a salvation army $1 purchase from 2002. Never sounded like this before. Fresh off my recently acquired VPI record cleaning machine.

I think MC cartridges are sensitive enough to get befuddled by even slightly dirty or static infused records.

REO Speedwagon-Hi Infidelity Side 1

Alexander Zonjic-Elegant Evening Side 1

Rod Stewart-Tonight I’m Yours-Side 2

Toni Tennille-More Than You Know-Side 2 SQ Audiophile

George Thorogood-Bad To The Bone Side 2

Missing Persons-Spring Session M Side 2

Aretha Franklin-Who’s Zoomin’ Who? Side 1

Larry Gatlin/Gatlin Brothers Band-Sure Feels Like Love Side 1 SQ Audiophile

White Lion-Big Game Side 1

Gerry Rafferty-North & South Side 1

Yes it was 80’s night so I spun a couple extra LP’s No surprise only 2/10 made Audiophile status. Missing Persons SQ was a disappointment since Bob Ludwig mastered it. Vocals were recessed and murky by choice? White Lion SQ was very good considering the genre. The Gatlin Brothers was the SQ champ tonight also delivering intelligent "country" lyrics. A top shelf 1980’s country album.

Deerhoof “Actually, You Can” Joyful Noise 2022

Roy Montgomery “Audiotherapy” Grapefruit 2022

For me it's Earth Wind and Fire - Gratitude sides 1 through 4; like going to concert in 1976.

Gyorgy Cziffra-Liszt-Rapsodies No 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5. La Voix De Son Maītre (EMI)      Mono

Just arrived from the UK today, in great shape.

Maazel conducts Sibelius - The Seven Symphonies. Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. DECCA 4LP box 1972

Terrapin still my favorite (and that’s saying a lot cause I love AB and WMD a lot).  I play Terrapin in my head pretty often actually.

Mahler* – Reiner* / Chicago Symphony* – Symphony No. 4 (Classic Records)

I swear I heard angels on side 2!

Arrived today,

The Delines "The Imperial"

James,

Thanks for the recommendation of "Black Country, New Road". Streamed it early this morning. Great music!

Jim,

LOL, I was also a deadhead outcast for loving the "Arista releases". Still do!
