@jek05

Welcome to this thread.  It is fabulous and you will have fun.  I look forward to your contributions, too.

An early '80s album.  You can really tell it was the early dawn of digital recording. But I do enjoy the music.

@sbank    Hey guys, next year, around August, I will be flying to Tallahassee.  My son is finishing his PhD at FSU by then and I will join him to travel back to Southern California.  We will be driving in his car, taking the I-10 all the way.  Austin is not far from the I-10 as we pass through Texas.  I know it's a year away, but if it works out, we can stop by and say hello.  And of course, listen to a few tunes before we are on our way again.  I'll keep in touch.

Some days our systems seem to sound better than others.  Today is one of those really good days.  Yeah!

@boxer12 I have a few cartridges, mostly mc carts, however I had my Clearaudio Virtuoso on the SL-1200 MK2 just before I tried the Stanton. Based on my audio memory, not back to back listening to the same album, I would say the Stanton has a little more body and images a little better. Maybe a little bit more leaning towards an "airier" presentation than the clearaudio, but not "bright", just a little more detail and treble emphasis. Bass isn't as solid as the Clearaudio, but it's tight. Haven't really messed with VTA yet, dropping the tail might change that a bit. Started with recommended 1.5 G VTF, I've read some recommend going heavier. It seems more "musical" than the Virtuoso. I like it so far.

@big_greg - How does the Stanton compare (in regard to SQ) to your other cartridges? I'm currently switching between a couple MM/MI cartridges (Empire 2000Z / Clearaudio Virtuoso) on my table.

Arthur Grumiaux , violin / Colette Lequien, viola / Maurice Gendron, cello / Roger Bourdin, flute / Annie Challan, harp / István Hajdú & Jean Françaix, piano

Debussy - Sonata In D Minor For Cello And Piano / Sonata For Flute, Viola And Harp / Sonata In G Minor For Violin And Piano / Syrinx (For Unaccompanied Flute)

Philips 1967, French release

Best Of Leon Russell - A Song For You, Japan pressing. Just put my old Stanton 981 HZS cart on the SL-1200 MK2, sounds really good.
