What type of wire for dedicated 20A AC lines?

I’m about to have two 20A dedicated lines installed. What type of wire should I use? I know there are differences of opinion on whether to use 10 AWG or 12 AWG, however the link below makes a great case for using even 8 AWG solid core copper on longer runs like mine will be (50 ft), to ensure a lower resistance, lower voltage drop over the long run, and therefore more access to instantaneous current for my Gryphon Diablo 300. The wire would need to be stepped down to 10 AWG to connect with the receptacle. The article actually states that the thickness of the wire is more important than the fact that it is dedicated…

Assuming I want to follow this advice, which again makes sense to me, where would I find such wire to give to my electrician?

I have two dedicated lines put in 20 years apart. Congratulations. You will be very happy.

I have never heard of an instance of this not helping. I never thought about direct line breakin… but my system has improved over time… so maybe that was why. You will notice an immediate improvement… so, I would just enjoy it and not worry about it. it is not as if you will have anything to compare it to.

My Oyaide cable and duplexes motivated me to add a PS Audio P12 Power Plant to my new line and Shunyata Triton/Typhon. PSA recommends not using a pc with their power plants. However, they do say that careful evaluation is called for.

There is a synergy between the T/T and the P12.
The T/T adds body and the P12 clarity.
Normally, I sort out records that are good recordings to place in a special group.

Now, it is difficult to pick out good ones. They all sound great!

Improving ones power is central, vital and spectacular!

Now, wonder about grounding?

You will be fine with a standard 20 amp romex wire (about 12-14awg), unless you are running hundreds of feet of it. 10 awg is fine also but not really necessary.  Also, note that the wire starts becoming 'mechanically' difficult to work with, as it gets thicker.
