Tons of Tandsberg stereo equipment just dropped on eBay

Heads up, I have no affiliation with this eBay seller what so ever. You have my word on that.
I just love Tandberg gear and can't afford to pick any of these parts up at the moment. Although I'd part with a kidney for some of this stuff.

This is is just a link to the TIA 3012A they have. Check out their other items for auction, including incredibly rare 4000 series parts. I don't think I've ever seen 4000 Seris equipment for sale anywhere, ever.
(Auction ends in about 5 hours.)

Sorry for the excitement and go check it out.

I knew the prices on this equipment were going to blow up, but it is pretty cool to see it on the market so people can experience it.

I have a TIA 3012A running a pair of Cambridge Audio SX50 bookshelfs. It’s probably a bit overkill for what I’m using it for (mostly quiet jazz and classical), but it works great. At some point I’d love it o pick up some other Tandberg components to build a complete 3000 series system.

I recently picked up an A/D/S/ Atelier A2 integrated amplifier. For those who aren’t familiar, and I certainly wasn’t, one of Braun’s famous chief designers, Dieter Rams spent some time designing high end, low profile stereo components. These were imported under license by A/D/S/. (An oversimplification I’m sure, but accurate to the best of my knowledge.) The A2 is another piece of a set that I don’t see come up for sale here or eBay with any frequency. It was unique and per some brief research, well regarded for it’s time. As far as how it sounds, I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but subjectivity I think it sounds great in my office through a set of JBL studio bookshelf speakers. (Sources: Ealry 90’s Sony turntable and Spotify over airplay to an airport express) The only things I do have to compare it to are a Sansui 5000x, a Yamaha CA 1010, the Tandberg TIA 3012A and a Marantz NR 1504. Plus I don’t have the infrastructure or space for an a/b comparison a-la new record day.

All that beings said, I’ve had nothing nothing but good experiences with the TIA 3012a and the Atelier A2.

What has your experience with these parts been?
The amp did WONDERS with the Snell A/III - Controlled the speaker like nothing I had ever heard, and turned the entire room into an effortless bellows.

And of course, the FM tuners were considered among the very best you could buy, ever.
The top of the line player was among the very best! :)

Certainly a good looker!

Thanks for the info. I see that the TANDBERG MODEL TCD 3004 CASSETTE DECK is up to $1615 at the moment. Fascinating.

I recently had a 3000 series amplifier. While the bass control was outstanding, I have to agree with one of the contemporary reviewers that the overall amp sounded pretty grainy.

<< sigh >> I wouldn't mind picking up a few of their amps just for the cases though! I think a Hypex stereo pair in a Tandberg case would be sexy as can be. :)
