The Beatles upcoming '' Let It Be '' Documentary Film .....
Hello Audiogoners - I hope all is well and I am really looking forward to this documentary film but I can not find out what station it will be on or what date this is going to air on. I know that the '' Let It Be '' music will be re-issued on October 15th and I really hope that it is minus the Phil Spector influence as I personally prefer the '' Naked ' disc / music. Please let me know and thank you in advance...…..

No, this is a new film entitled "Get Back". A companion book will be released on Oct. 11th: The Beatles: Get Back: Beatles, The, Harris, John, Russell, Ethan, McCartney, Linda, Kureishi, Hanif, Jackson, Peter: 9780935112962: Amazon.com: Books I don’t know what the plans for CDs and vinyl are but you can probably find out here: (2) Let It Be/Get Back 50th Anniversary Releases! (Content and Sound Quality Discussion Only)! | Steve Hoffman Music Forums Here is the press announcement for the project: THE BEATLES - New "GET BACK" film directed by Peter Jackson to be on Disney+ in November, 2021* We are proud to announce an exciting new collaboration between The Beatles and the acclaimed Academy Award winning director Sir Peter Jackson The new film will be based around 55 hours of never-released footage of The Beatles in the studio, shot between January 2nd and January 31st, 1969. These studio sessions produced The Beatles’ Grammy Award winning album Let It Be, with its Academy Award winning title song. The album was eventually released 18 months later in May 1970, several months after the band had broken up. The filming was originally intended for a planned TV special, but organically turned into something completely different, climaxing with The Beatles’ legendary performance on the roof of Apple’s Savile Row London office — which took place exactly 50 years ago today. Peter Jackson said, "The 55 hours of never-before-seen footage and 140 hours of audio made available to us, ensures this movie will be the ultimate ‘fly on the wall’ experience that Beatles fans have long dreamt about." “I was relieved to discover the reality is very different to the myth,” continues Jackson, “it’s simply an amazing historical treasure-trove. Sure, there’s moments of drama - but none of the discord this project has long been associated with. Watching John, Paul, George, and Ringo work together, creating now-classic songs from scratch, is not only fascinating - it’s funny, uplifting and surprisingly intimate”. "I’m thrilled and honoured to have been entrusted with this remarkable footage - making the movie will be a sheer joy.” |

Sure, there’s moments of drama - but none of the discord this project
has long been associated with.] Sounds like wishful thinking. Let's not forget the backdrop: the invasive Yoko and the interminable management and legal battles as they fought to decide between Lee Eastman and Alan Klein. Not to mention Lennon's issues with heroin, Yoko's miscarriage, custody battles, and fallout with Cynthia and to a lesser degree, his aunt Mimi. Ok, it's the Beatles and we can't ever have too much of a good thing. Fair enough. |
I'll definitely be watching it on Disney Plus Thanksgiving Day after a belly full of turkey! Looking foward to it. Watch The Beatles: Get Back | Disney+ (disneyplus.com)
