Southwest Audiofest

I only thought to search the forums now to see if anyone was planning to meet up at this show. I went so that I could meet with the distributors and brands I deal for, but in hindsight, it would have been great to meet some Audiogoners during the show.

It was a much smaller show than others I’ve been to, and also much less busy. That said, a number of rooms sounded decent, and it was nice to have the time and space to listen to them all and talk with the people running them.

Hearing some companies I had never heard. I  think possibly the MBL room is my favorite,  but hard to say. Going back to listen to favorites tomorrow.

   Now you're talking.  That's as little as needed for a great response to my query. While my wife and I are not going with a purchase in mind (I ceded mine) still I had not heard of that manufacturer before. Also the mention that you made and have kept new friends as part of a show helps diminish my dim interpretation of the possibility of "stuffinese" being the prominent attitude.

No crazy stories for me. I have met some very good people at shows over the years and became very good friends with two of them. 

Some rooms will be more crowded than others. Although hotel rooms may not be optimal, it still a great way to hear different components. 

I'm only looking for new speaker cables and power cords, so I plan on going to the Albedo Cables room. I really just want to support the audio fest.

   Thank you @ricred and @jond. I do have an agenda though still "tweaking"  just seems too amateur you know ? All of the fests and shows and exhibits the many forum members have attended up against this being my first is a formidable ratio yet one I would like to use as an advantage. 

  Maybe you have a story ? "This one room I went to had an amazing  ???? or the show in Chicago I get on the elevator and turn around to see !!!!! AND It's just the two of us going down 14 floors please give me something so stop making stuff up.

   @ricred1 and @jond do you have a favorite or a room you plan to spend more or the most time in for example.  For instance I really don't understand how these demonstrations can be complimentary using hotel rooms. Are the attendees packed in ? 

What @ricred1 said go through the exhibitor list and note things you want to hear. There will be a lot to take in so organization can help you hit as many rooms as possible.

I'm attending also. My advice is to plan ahead by determining what rooms you want to visit. Google Southwest Audio Fest and you can see what Exhibitors will attend and their room numbers.
