It depends upon the type of bass trap. Some work best in corners others not. Look up the type of absorber and educate yourself. Don’t listen to Dennis. He is a BS artist and not trustworthy. You can check what’s best threads or simply Google his history.

I’d say the type of bass management is completely dependent on your room
