Shout out to the Moderator(s)

A lot of Bot threads bit the dust quickly this morning.  Great job.

Nice to see compliments to the moderators. It can be a thankless job to moderate nonsense posts and bots and get rid of it all. Not sure how the moderators do it.

Not sure how the moderators do it.

Some members are up early and, "report" the crap.

Thanks everyone. For what it is worth this was discussed with the developers this morning. They are going to implement soon more security for first time forum posters to try to eliminate the Bots. Please continue to flag any posts that  you think is fake.

if only contact details could be shared in matters that have zero to do with sales. Maybe for Christmas.....

great job to admin dealing with the bots !!!! 👍🙏

now, as for that monumentally painful and utterly sad thread on audio sciences review... i think audiogon may soon need to buy a whole new server bank just to store the oceans of unreadable words on that one! 😂🤣

Thanks Admin. You always respond to anything I can think of to complain about.

👍😄👍

They shoot horses, don't they?

All the best,

Yeah, that one needs to be closed. Beyond ridiculous now.  Some repeat the same posts over and over, they get longer and longer, with more bolded fonts and intermixed comments of quotes and replies, can't make heads or tails of it now.

What might constitute a bot thread that might appear here? An example might me nice for us less computer literate folk. And why we are on the subject of complimenting Audiogon's administrative folk, compliments on your substantially cutting down on troll activity over the past year or two. This site has become much more pleasant to frequent as a result of your efforts. Thanks.

Mike

To detect bots, click the poster’s screen name to see when they signed up. Zero feedback, no other posts and it will most likely be the same day. It will have many questions, some off topic and may include questionable, clickable links.

Thanks to Tammy for being on top of this!

Great post here Carlsbad2. Not only for the bot removal job, but for all they do which I'm sure is not easy.

I sold an item a couple of weeks ago, got full asking price within a couple of days. But when I checked out who the buyer was, my heart dropped! He had no feedback and became a member the same day he bought my item. Payment went through fine, but communication from buyer was 2 or 3 word replies. Obviously not a bot, but scary. Since he was a new member I gave him positive feedback. He did compliment me on "smoothest online transaction he ever had", but he gave me no feedback.  I'm an old member and am amazed how things have changed.

Sorry if a bit off topic. And yes, Tammy is always quick to respond to any of my concerns. I'm glad they are stepping it up to block the bots!

@ronboco

many people here can hardly hear or see. They won't decode contact info, they are happy they can read what's on the screen.
