RIP Robert Lietz (Bob) - Analog Shop - Victor NY

Just wanted to share the news that Robert Lietz (Bob) owner of the Analog Shop in Victor NY near Rochester passed away suddenly this week.  Bob was a music staple in the Rochester area helping many people build great stereo systems.  As the name of his shop suggests Bob had a passion for Analog and sold many a turntable to vinyl lovers all over the country.  By chance I stopped by the shop last week to talk to him about some Mcintosh gear.  I am so glad I did since I was able to see my friend one last time.  I am sure that Bob is listening to a heavenly sound system as we speak.  Bob will be missed but not forgotten.

ROCK ON BOB  !!!

Sad to hear- RIP. I bought an amp from Bob long ago, and he was a pleasure to deal with.

I'm good friends with Bob as well. We met up about two and a half weeks ago which I'm thankful for. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to get that phone call. Vic and Hannah are in my thoughts every minute of every day. We lost a great friend.

Wow, terrible news.  RIP Bob.  I bought a bunch of gear from him over the years.  Real nice guy.

Just read about this, so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Many of us in the WNY area purchased quite a bit of audio gear from him. He always carried some great gear, played some great music and opened his store up to whomever was visiting at the time.

Does anyone know if his shop will continue?

I was a customer of Bob’s for over 30 years.  I live in Michigan so I never visited his store but he came to my home with his wife to deliver a pair of speakers.  It was a 7 hour drive (one way) for Bob and his wife and he had to rent a van to fit the speakers in a vehicle.  Now that’s service!  Bob and I became friends and we would often spend several hours talking about not just audio, but also family, football and automobiles.  I feel fortunate to get to know him and I miss him.  RIP Bob.

Bob was a friend of mine who was a wonderful person. He took interest in his customers and spent the time to match equipment based on a variety of factors. I first visited the analog shop over 32 yrs ago with my 3 children in tow. He was patient and understanding with my limited budget. Over the years we shared common interests, attended concerts, dined and had a few cold ones. He even flew to FL and helped pack my gear prior to moving back to Rochester in 2006. I stopped by his shop a week before he passed and we planned to get together soon.  It was a shock when Victoria called to inform me of his passing. Bob was a dedicated husband and father who lived his dream of impacting people’s lives through audio. He is dearly missed but I’m thankful to have known him.
RIP Analog Bob
