righteous reggae mon

Having just returned from my family's annual sojourn to the beach, I realized that I haven't purchased any reggae recently. I am a big fan of Lucky Dube, Bob Marley (Ziggy and his siblings as well), Toots, Burning Spear and others. I searched the "Gon archives and found a recommendation for "Rockamovya" which sounds tasty. Any recent new reggae artists of note?

I say Max Romeo and the Upsetters, War Inna Babylon, as good as any ever. My opinion, of course.
Having visited Jamaica many times, I'm convinced there is a reggae cover for every song, from "Take Me Home West Virginia" (or "Sweet Jamaica") to "Hava Nagila."

Probably the first well-known Jamaican cover was the ska beat "My Boy Lollipop" from 1964 sung by Millie Small.

Going through my collection, I found an early 90's gem- "Fire On the Mountain"- Reggae Artists Play the Grateful Dead. This is a great compilation album that always gets a warm reception in the Summertime. I am sure you could find a cheap used copy on Amazon.
Also not new, but Bunny Wailer, an original of the three Wailers, along with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, has made some great records. His first, "Blackheart Man," is a reggae classic.
"Best of UB40" is one of my favorite CD's. The recording quality is excellent. And I agree on the Sinead O'Conner mentioned above which also has awesome fidelity.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I will be chillin' and sippin' on hummingbirds poolside in no time. I have ordered a few and will post my impressions. I really miss Lucky Dube by the way. He had the voice of an angel. "Guns and Roses" from Taxman is such a fine song.
Not new - but Black Uhuru should definitely be in your reggae collection if they aren't already.
Wailing Souls, Mighty Diamonds, Prince Fari, URoy, IRoy, UBrown, Trinty, John Brown's Body, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru Linton Kwesi Johnson, sly an Robbie-Reggae greats, Gregory Issacs, Most stuff on Adrian Sherwoods ONU Sound, Twinkle BrothersYellowman, Eek-a-mouse, Meditations, Dillinger, Pablo Moses, The Clash, Sublime, Slightly Stoopid, Manu Chao, King Chango, Dry and Heavvy!!! If more or needed let me know. Ha! May not be new 2015, but some of the artist may be new to you. I'm not sure if Rockamovya was my suggestion, but good. Newer. Protoje, Chronixx, Raging Fayh, Thievery Corporation, Midnite!!!! Crazy Fool!!!!

Besides Rockamovya, Ziggy Marley "One Bright Day" is another excellent disc.

I really like the group "Ballyhoo". Reggae with
a touch of ska and punk and rock.

A young girl at a record store turned me on to them.
