REL users - do any of you use low level for 2 channel?

curious if anybody has experience swapping out high for low on newer REL subs

the stock high level cable is a messy snake and the connectors barely fit my amp

I would be connecting to the sub out on my bluesound

I have a T9x

on the plus side right out the box sounds better than my previous sb3000 with similar output on music, and REL suggests you can achieve an an additional 5-8db if I use their break in process so looking forward to that too

REL has a unique connection but my personal experience is that subs sound better using the high level connections. Many think otherwise but I spent a lot of money on my chain of equipment, and I don't want to not use my amp as the source.

High level is the way to go...gets the sound of the amp, and it's very easy to make REL cables. I use inexpensive Canare "star quad" cable with screw on AQ bananas and "Speakons" (Neutrik...from Liechtenstein!). Easy peezy...the length doesn't matter to the amp, and long RCAs aren't a good thing ever.

why would I want the sound of the amp?  the amp should not really have any sound

having said that, if the amp has a particular flavour, how would that ever even be  be audible within low frequencies?

i don't see the science or logic in this

i tried different amps with the same result including a  tube amp

having said that, its a great little sub, would like to upgrade to a no 31 funds permiting

please go to youtube.... there are about 50 videos by john hunter of rel (owner/lead designer and spokesman) on any and all topics regarding rel subs, including why high level preferred over low level for 2 channel

inform yourself first, hear it from the horse’s mouth so to speak, before being argumentative - you and we all will be better off

there are thousands of rel customers enjoying their music, we are not stupid, nor are we deaf

otoh, if this dog don’t hunt for you, there are many other sub makers out there where you plug in the rca jack and off you go...

here is a link to get you started...

Hey! I connected my REL T5x with a coax cable running through LFE and into my Bluesound Node. No problem. It just works. No thinking required. I never used the high-pass cable.

I use LFE in from my electronic crossover.    Never tried their Speakon connector,  I had mono tube amps and couldn't get a definitive answer on whether that was safe to do with those.
