Rel thump

Is the thumping occurring with no music playing? Or with volume muted?

Volume on. It went from good bass to the thump.

I listen at low to moderate volume.

Likely sub amp or driver issue if you haven't changed any connections.

I was thinking something went bad since I bought it used. Ya never know. I've had it since January.

Fixed it....Just ordered a new Rel S/812.

Sub drivers have a limited lifespan in comparison to other drivers. They take a real beating. They can also fail in a number of ways. I keep a spare driver handy.

The lesson is to avoid used subwoofers. If you have to buy used make sure drivers are still available.

I have a pair of REL SHO’s and they play seamlessly.  I set them at 40% volume.

I would never buy used.  There must be a reason why they sold them.

Never again for subs..
