Regrets, I've had a few...

Wow. Haven't heard anything about the band 'Be Bop Deluxe' in many moons! Now that you mention it, I wouldn't mind recovering my copy of 'Axe Victim.'

I'd really like to have all my old original Beatles albums back. That and a list of all the stuff that falls into this category that I've completely forgotten over the years...

None.

I still have every album and every CD I ever cared about.
(And a whole bunch I don't care about.)

I can count on one hand the number of albums, cassettes and CDs I have gotten rid of. None of which I even care to mention. (Like Styx, Yuch! Sorry to all your Styx fans. And to all you Styx haters: Honest, I was young and didn't know any better.)

My only serious regret is loaning by copy of "Whole World Party" by The Fool's to an ex-girlfriend. We broke up and I never got it back. Man, I'd give a lot to get another copy.

The Fools!!! As in "A Night for Beautiful Girls..."? Haven't thought about them in years! Thanks for the memory.

Yup, Live in The Air Age/w one disc white and Axe Victim melted a special place in the brain.
- Don't have Capt. Beefheart-Lick My Decals Off Baby anymore (very tough to find on cd).
- L.S Bearforce is gone.
- John Cage Cartridge Music (a true stoner).
- The two ECM Julian Priester records (what the %$##**!!! is wrong w/ those ECM guys??? they gotta' put those out on cd!)
- Ahmad Jamal-Outertimeinnerspace (i can't find anything from him that works like this one).
- Dave Pike-Solamao, some of the best Volker Kriegel and Eberhard Weber stuff is on this one (can't get it on cd).
- Irmin Schmidt, (Can)- Film Music Vol. 2 (alot got amputated on the cd version)
-Also, i have NO Mentors (maybe that's a good thing).

A 2 disc Led Zepplin live bootleg that was pressed on blue vinyl, my copy went missing about 1971...

Right on Kurt_tank! Who would get rid of their music, unless it was destroyed by your college room-mate.

And since it was mentioned, I too enjoy my Be Bop Deluxe. I still play "Modern Music" every once in a while.

For me it was actually a cassette tape of Jimi Hendrix live, bought it on the streets of Grenich Village when I was in college, it was labelled Woodstock, but wasn't.

In it Jimi does his first ever live performance of Hear my train a comin' (called it Trying to get my heart back together) and you could actuaslly hear him crying while singing it! I never found this collection again, and it was stolen with a JVC boom box from my apartment.....

How about "albums you saw in the store for sale but didn't have the money to buy at the time"
1. Special British import of Yes "Topographic Oceans" on coloured vinyl
2. German pressing of Bill Bruford's "One of a Kind"
3. Brand new in the store, for I think $19.00, Elton John's Greatest Hits on Nautilus, Half-speed (try finding one now for under $100.)
4. Peter Gabriel 1st LP on Direct Disk half-speed. Very hard to find now.

Albums I lost somehow... brand new when they came out, good pressings:
1. Todd Rudgren "RA"
2. The Tubes.. can't remember the title but the one with the baby suckling from the TV.
3. Journey "Look into the Future" the progressive journey, NOT the pop-version
4. Bob Marley "Babylon by Bus" UK pressing

I still enjoy "live in the air age", although it on black vinyl. They were a great band. Bill Nelson also did some interesting solo stuff...

I've been blessed, every lp, I've lost, I have been able to recover SOMEHOW IN THIS GREAT BIG WORLD, Thanks to Ebay!!!, And when I listen to these LP gems, IT STILL TAKES MY BREATH AWAY, SUCH GOD GIVEN TALENT, ICON NATURALS, KRIS JENSEN, RAL DONNAR, TERRY STAFFORD, NAZZ, JUST A FEW TO MENTION AND OF COURSE KRELL, JPS, AND MARTIN LOGAN, HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH IT TO!!! LIFE IS GOOD

RE: Be Bop Deluxe, The UK pressing of "Live in the Air Age" on the EMI/Harvest CD [CDP 7947322] will easily better the quality of either the white or black American vinyl [compressed as hell]. Please DO NOT confuse the quality of this import CD with that of the One Way Records CD fidelity, which is pure S**T!

Bootleg tape of an album w/ Geoff and Maria Muldeir(I am spelling their last name wrong) and many other talented musicians who I am not as familar with. I remember two songs in particular-Blue Railway train and Dardinella. It was given to me when I was very young and I listened to it daily. I remember all the songs, but few of the titles. I do not know the name of the album- even then it was dated. I do remember being extremely suprised that this was(in the case of Blue Railway Train) the same woman who sang a very popular song on the radio, and one that I happened to dislike intensely. Anyway, I had the tape until recently. No title on it because I knew what it was, and I still enjoyed it very very much even as the sound quality had deteriated over the years of use. I regret its loss.

My major regret is allowing friends, and friends of friends to have access to my record collection in college. I lost a quarter of my collection to one of my roomate's friends. When confronted, he denied taking them. I exacted payment of a sort, but I never saw those records again. One of them was a perfect copy of Ellen McIlwaine's Honky Tonk Angel. I had to replace it with an inferior copy and have never seen one as good the original. Other sob stories omitted for sanity's sake.

I still listen to BeBop Deluxe, Live in the Air Age is in my 'heavy rotation' pile, supposedly all the BeBop Deluxe albums are soon to be or have recently been reissued. I only have 'Axe Victim' 'Live in the Air Age' and another "live in the studio BBC' on CD, but have all the rest on vinyl. If you like BeBop Deluxe, and haven't heard it yet, I have listened to Bill Nelson's "Whimsy" CD (actually double CD) 2-3 times a week for the last 8 months or so. Not as much guitar hero stuff as BeBop, but his best solo work (I think) in a while.
To answer the question that started this thread, I gave away a bootleg cassette tape of Jimmy Thackery and the Assassins that a friend of mine made at a show we attended in a dive club in State College--The Scorpion--in the mid 80's. Gave it to my brother in law, then they got divorced and I lost custody of the tape :(
