Rega planar 3 (50th Anniversary)

Rega just announced an upgraded 50th Anniversary P3 a couple of days ago. Seems like great value, and I’m considering it.

Still early days… but has anyone seen it yet? Any thoughts?!

Looks nice.   I demo'd a P3 a few months ago and thought it was a good value.   I had a P3 years ago and it served me well.   Really can't go wrong with a P3

I am intrigued by this as well. See what the pricing will be once it hits the US.

The two upgrades that made the signle biggest difference to my Rega TT was

  1. replacing the Rega arm with an Audiomods Arm.
    • It was a very simple "exchange" - no additional twaking - simply remove the rega arm and replace it sith the Audiomods arm
    • That was twelve years ago and I haven;t looked for another arm since - although the latest Audiomods arms now have Azimuth adjustment as well as micrometer VTA
    • I also ordered the one pieve harness with the KLE Innovationsa RCA plugs
  2. Replacing the glass platter with an acrylic platter

I've also performed many other mods, but these two provided the biggest bang for the buck

There does not seem to be too much excitement about it. To me, it looks very nice and a good value, considering what you get. I may bite...

For a couple more dollars you can get the P6 which is a better unit. I would recommend that route.
