Recommendation for speaker wire upgrade

I don't really think that either of the Kimber cables would be a significant upgrade to your Audioquest. This is even more the case when you consider that it is a fairly well known piece of info that the 800 series speakers work better with solid core cables such as the Audioquest stuff. Of course if you can arrange to audition these speaker cables prior to a buying commitment and compare them head to head, then you will know for sure. One other piece of advice. If you do end up doing a comparison shootout between the Kimber and the Audioquest resist the temptation to change quickly back and forth between the different cables. It has been my experience that this is not a very effective way of determining differences between any two cables. It is much better to insert one cable into your system for about a week, then exchange it for the previous cable again and you will be able to much better differentiate between the sound of the two cables.

I used AQ Indigo long time ago and upgraded to Acoustic Zen Satori - very nice speaker cable

I just put a set of LAT International SS1000 Mk IIs in my system and they really are terrific for the $$. Smooth, detailed, full sounding and very transparent. Can't say enough about them.

I really like the Morrow Audio line of speaker cable. Check them out in the postings. I think it trounces any cable in it's price range. If you can find some used, it will avoid the break in process.

Hi5harry - if it's not used for a while it needs break in again. For that reason Audioquest polarizes dielectric with DC voltage (close to 100V now) from attached battery.

I am sold on the Harmonic Tech Pro 9 or Pro 11. The older versions are relatively inexpensive and sound great. Either would be a significant upgrade from the AQ.

Anti-Cable are surely great! .. but not on Hi Current SS amp
For my taste are one of the best choice on Tube Amps

Come to your senses! A quick, inexpemsive trip to Home Depot for purchase of their 12 gauge speaker wire is needed to finally put your 'cable monster' to rest. Keep an open mind, please. It will change your audio life, forever.

My newest favorite speaker wire is Analysis Plus Oval, they easily replaced Kimber 4tc and 8tc feeding Green Mountain monitors w/a 2 channel McIntosh amp and also via monoblocks. The Plus Oval cable is a hollow braid like the 4tc/8tc with amazing speed/detail/precision but more neutral/natural sounding than the Kimbers. Anti-cables didn't work for me.

Absolutely agree - it will change your audio life forever (just not sure if for the better).

Jena labs -the less expensive ones- did the trick.
