Real musicians don't need "awards."

Some interesting news on Carol Kaye turning down the invite for the next R&R HOF awards.

Carol Kaye ’declining’ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction

Good on Carol for keeping her integrity as a musician.

R&R HOF is a goofy production for "entertainers" especially the last few decades.

The fact that  neither Jethro Tull nor Ian Anderson himself are not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame demonstrates the minimal significance of being inducted into it. He’s amongst the most talented musicians in any genre & both a brilliant, prolific writer ( new album just came out) & great performer!

"Need" seems unnecessarily strong, but certainly fame is something that many musicians desire.  Obviously, Carol is not among them.  I have total respect for her and her position.

Personally, I'd be curious to see the spectacle.  Maybe ask them to let me sneak in unannounced and disguised, sit at some anonymous table of industry folk 30 rows deep, and dutifully applaud when they announced that I wasn't present...

Being in the South, punting NASCAR is not a great idea, esp. in a bar environ.....

'Stock cars'.....left turns only.....*yawn*  Just a daft draft duel for too long to hold my attention, and I suspect some go for just the shunts....
Give me a back road rally....some Isle of Man road race raucous rollin'....some Euro hill climbin'....
Just watching the late great Ken Block trashing tires in the vids is more fun than most motomuck from the NAS...

...but I like 'Q-ship' cars...streetable stuff that surprises that dolt in the Beemer that thinks he's stinkless....watching your tailpipe pop a flame on the upshift.

(Grew up in SoCal during the muscle car craze....'insane in the membrane'...)

Most musicians may not require awards, but most of them do require rewards, and that is often where the trouble starts.
