Real musicians don't need "awards."

Some interesting news on Carol Kaye turning down the invite for the next R&R HOF awards.

Carol Kaye ’declining’ Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction

Good on Carol for keeping her integrity as a musician.

R&R HOF is a goofy production for "entertainers" especially the last few decades.

This is reminding me to again watch "The Wrecking Crew" documentary. Kaye had some interesting commentary.

Most musicians may not require awards, but most of them do require rewards, and that is often where the trouble starts.

There is one James Taylor album I have always liked and often listen to as a "test" album - "October Road." It is mostly original material and showcases Taylor's voice and writing skills very handsomely, and the studio production is very good. When my sound system finally matured it was enjoyable to hear every little inflection and detail in the performance. Whenever there has been some change or tweak in my system "October Road" is one of a few albums routinely brought to bear to see what is what..
