Quicksilver is a high value proposition. I ran my Mid Monos with a Zesto Leto preamp and I could not believe how good those amps sounded. Totally not out of place with a high end preamp.
100% This.
Quicksilver with Walnut Faceplates at Aural HiFi
I had a lovely time listening to Devore 0/96 speakers today with a Quicksilver Line Stage and Quicksilver KT Mono amps. The setup sounded great and the store is amazing!
What some here might want to know is that Aural HiFi has an exclusive arrangement to produce QS gear with a walnut faceplate. This is in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the store and Mike gave his blessing.
So, if you are interested in QS stuff with a slightly more warm and decor-friendly vibe, let Aural know.

Indeed! In fact, the way this even came about was for very utilitarian reasons - sourcing. We had customers who wanted the preamps. He told us he wasn't able to get faceplates right now, so we put our heads together. The aesthetics were just a happy accident but he digs 'em! |
Yep. Spoke with my local dealer about this recently, who’s been selling QS in the USA as long as anyone. He only carries Audio Note and QS, that’s it. He’s had older QS MX amp, preamps on trade-in with fancy faceplates. Looked nice. And, asked him about gear I’ve come across that Mike use to modify, and no longer does either. My dealer commented about him not wanting to also have to fuss with getting the faceplates absolutely perfect. Time consuming too. I spoke to Mike about this once myself. Seems he just wants to build no-nonsense value gear that works well, with less returns around the world, and sells for its sound. I actually kinda prefer my stealth function-first QS Mono 120 amps as-is. Any amazing buy! |
