Ordering directly from MoFi (LP's)


Has anyone ordered directly from MoFi (and not MusicDirect) previously?

I had an LP on the "notify me when in stock". When I received the in stock email from MoFi, I immediately went to their site and paid for the order. That was one week ago. Since then, zero updates to the order and an email to their customer service without reply.

They only provide an email contact and no phone number so I am unable to call.

Anyone have prior experience ordering direct from them?

I was going to order a Steely Dan Gaucho SACD from Music Direct last week.

The disc was around $35, shipping was something like $8.40 and then there was out-of-state tax.$2.60. This was an impulse buy so I cancelled.

So, I think you're mistaken about the free shipping OP.

So I ended up calling MusicDirect since they "own" MoFi and I was connected directly to MoFi who apologized with a few excuses and they are shipping today.

They don't charge until the item actually ships which will be today for me, order was placed one week ago.

I will no longer order directly (not that there will ever be another LP I feel is worthy from them, but I really wanted the Bill Wither's Greatest Hits based on reviews) and if I really do want another MoFi LP, I'll go straight to MusicDirect to avoid the hassle and having to pay for shipping.

I know that Music Direct charges a card upon shipment.  I forget when Mobile charges your card, but it seems to me it was upon order..please correct me if wrong.

Well, they can’t seem to get their story straight on the use of the Master tapes, so why would they be in any rush to ship goods?

I’m going to cancel and order from MD. 

A plus:  they have stock that MusicDirect, Acoustic Sounds and Elusive Disc don't have.

A minus: you have to pay for shipping. MoFi should have a policy like the others that if you buy a certain dollar amount of merchandise, shipping is free.  It's unreasonable to pay high costs for MoFi products and then have to pay for shipping on top of it.  Add to that the poor customer service and it's a big NO for me.  

I know that I pay for shipping when ordering direct. I have experience canceling an order. I had to repeatedly EMail over a week prior to getting a response.  I won’t order from them again.
