non-high end collectables, radios..etc.

Perhaps some of you/us have audio related collections that are not

high-end. bit still related fun?  I do.

Not as much today, but at one time I had a collection of older, tube console radios

from the 40s and 50s....and stupidly sold them.  Some of those monsters had

a wonderful, perhaps somewhat mellow, sound and many looked the part...like

some wonderful old cars.  And, like old cars, some were just very cool looking

in a Cary Grant kind of way.

yogi,  Thank you for sharing.  When we can trust to share, there is much good to be gained/learned.  My sons generation seems to be a bit devoid of the feeling of community and sharing.

I own four tabletop radios from the late thirties. It’s amazing that these 80+ year old radios still work fine. And they all have the original tubes! If you take a gander at my system you will see my favorite which is  black dial Zenith circa 1938!

When someone see's the brand Crosley or a few others today, it's just a name.

Here is where those companies made their craft when plastic and transistors are weren't in use yet. Wood, metal and bakelite.

Beautiful Art Deco pieces.

I want one for my home office but don't really have the room to justify it.

I restored an old table-top tube radio that was from around the 1930’s, beautiful wood cabinet. Lots of fun to show off and play, but eventually sold it to a collector as it become a dust collector. Did sound nice.

You know, I never in my life thought I would say this, but I think I miss Bo1972.  Life is funny sometimes.
