- (((I should add a disclaimer that replacing the jumpers, though, as easy as it gets, may cause warranty issues with Magnepan. Do at your own risk. ))) No worries with replacing the jumpers to your preference. The fuse is what Magnepan asks to keep in place. Great speakers and worth waiting to enjoy!! New Magnepan .7s a Quickie Review
Not sure the .7s are getting much love and Stereophile magazine says they are a class C loudspeaker. I’m a fairly experienced Magnepan user with a lot of experience running MMGs, 1.6s, and 3.6s. I got my .7s yesterday and have them hooked up to a Prima Luna integrated. So far so good. A little bigger sound stage than a MMG but smaller than a 1.6. They might be the proper scale for some music choices. Mid range is typical Magnepan, the bottom is good but not particularly deep, and the highs are a notch down from the ribbon tweeter models, not far from the 1.6s. All the flat panel goodness is there which for me moves them into maybe a class B loudspeaker. I’m not disappointed, a solid upgrade from a MMG. I’m still testing but a good speaker in it’s price range.
