New Audio Technica

On VA, the price was quoted as ~$2500.  I can't see the ad you quoted, in English, only shows up in Japanese, but the price is 330,000yen, which today converts to $2718US. It doesn't have its coils on the stylus end of the cantilever, so the relationship to the AT1000 is distant at best. I'd like to hear it.

My browser(chrome) has a translate function. The ART20 isn't an air core, as ART1000. At minimum it should perform at ART9 level,which is positive. Basic specs listed look about the same, but translated include titanium base. Picture shows stylus pressed into boron cantilever, instead of glued.

The ART1000 coils if anyone is interested. 

ART 1000 build qualifies as exotic.

I've heard it on a couple of substantial setups. I don't know if it's  in the Lyra Atlas class,  but it sounds competitive. Maybe it's the "value" proposition for hyper carts?

I have had an ART1000 a couple of years now.  It alternates with four other hi-end carts, vdH and Ortofon.

ART1000 is a great cart.   has a clarity and precision that for me at least equals those others.  On material like string quartets it's better.  I think the weight and authority of its sound is a little less than Anna.  About the same as A90, a bit better than the top vdHs.

I sometimes wonder whether it is the high mass of the Anna that does this.  It weighs around 2x the others.  Unfortunately that doesn't go well with my ultra low mass Aeroarm, so I use it on my second table, an old Zarathustra with Zeta arm.  Big sound, but not as precise as the other carts on the Aeroarm.

Yes, the generator appears to be similar. The use of Titanium in the body and a rubber compound for the under part of the cartridge seems to hark back to the construction of the ART-1 from around 1990. I still have my ART-1, but the cantilever broke off back in the 90's. I have mulled over getting it repaired as it was an interesting cartridge in terms of soundstage transparency - attached image is from the web:
