Netting Over Connectors - Do They Help?

Many premium cables come with loose netting around the connectors.

Do these actually help? Has anyone heard the difference with and without?

Know others will post anyways but will pay attention to responses from those who believe cables make a diff.

No comment (although I now need to visit the emergency department to have a doctor reattach my tongue).

Well, one of those thingies could be made out of fine copper screen knitted to fit, Then the forum could engage in endless arguments about whether or not a difference could be heard. The arguments alone might be worth the price of admission.

The best answer in these kind of topic discussions is … Just do an A B blind test to see for yourself if it makes a difference on your system if you really want to find out.  Don’t listen to us bunch of old crotchety, tinnitus ridden,  overly opinionated know it all’s.  Have fun with it yourself😉

+1 @mwh777  - He is right in that the plastic netting is just there to protect the connectors so they don't get the new shiny surface all scratched up when packaging and shipping.  That is all it is.
