My All Time Christmas Song

The song that really gets me on Christmas is

“I Believe In Father Christmas”, by Greg Lake of ELP found on ELP’s Works Vol.2 Album.

Absolutely A Classic !

My father bought me the album many years ago when I was a junior in high school and still have it in my collection… Since his passing in ‘82 It’s been a tradition of mine of only being taken out of it’s sleeve once a year, being play on Christmas Day… Sounds as good as the day I got it 👍

@bolong ++1 Nat King Cole's Christmas Album - all of it.

The Temptations Give Love At Christmas album is second on my list, especially Silent Night.

Tell you what really boils my spaghetti is playing Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah this time of year like it's a holiday/Christmas song. Pure ignorant nonsense!

@freediver ,

My condolences and I hope you find nothing but cherished memories whenever you hear it.

I can’t narrow down one song.  Heck I can’t even narrow down one album.  Growing up my parents always had Johnny Mathis’ “Merry Christmas” and Nat King Cole’s “King of Christmas” in heavy rotation, and to this day it’s not Christmas without both of them.

followed by O Holy NIght

Yes! Both are good but "O Holy Night"  Has a great melody IMO

I always liked several pieces from "The Nutcracker", especially "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" It has a magical sense of sound IMO. But the Ballet as a whole has that sense of wonder & Awe. Maybe its a leftover from my childhood when it was a big part of Christmas in the area I lived and TV commercials. Then there’s Handel’s "Messiah" and the "Hallelujah Chorus". Though written more for Easter, its still appropriate IMO. Funny thing is that it was in my record collection with Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad, Mountain, Zeppelin et al even while I was an atheist. I just liked the music.

Being raised in a fanatical religious cult I never experienced Christmas as a kid..My late wife was a Classical Pianist & my first real Christmas was together with her family.. The first song she played that Christmas Eve while we all trimmed the tree was Silent Night..Any version brings me to my knees me today..

I love that one as well. Was recently talking to my music buddy about it.
