lack of bass

hello there

i have big problem

first my system

power-arc 75se , pre- arc 5se , transport- wadia 860x , dac-lampizator pacific, speaker -sonus amati aniversario( 4 ohm)

month ago i spoke to arc and told them that my bass is little thin, he told me to try to connect the speaker to 8 ohms becaus they found that somtimes it sounds better,so i did.

it was fantasty!!! suddenly it sound big with alot of weight.

last week i put some music to enjoy my system and it was a nightmare,the bass has lost its weight and detail,it sounds like it is hollow

and un balance from top to bottom.

 i ordered set of tubes to both pre and power from thetubestore, first i replace the pre tubes.... nothing,then the power tubes.....nothing, i tooke from my dealer a shindo pre.....nothing, remiyo kap 777 power.....nothing.

i took my wadia to my dealer and compare it with lampizator computer and they sound the same.

i must say that the tracks were taken from the web so i dont know how good they are.

please......help

No big deal. Around 50% of all audiophile systems are out of phase, anyways. Hey, that rhymes!

i must say that the tracks were taken from the web so i dont know how good they are.

@suhila

The system may well be revealing a problem with the tracks. Do you have the problem playing tracks you know?
The connections are ok.
About the tracks i realy dont know because i only use cds.
Maybe somthing happened to the transpormer inside the power amp because using 4 ohm speaker with 8 ohm terminal ?

That's a scary thought. However I'd expect a tube to fail before the output transformer did. Loading an amp like that means that the tubes see half the load they they would if the speaker were on the 4 ohm tap.

So it doesn't sound right on the CDs either?
Use a 1.5 to 9v battery on each speaker. Check that the woofers move, and stick in place.

The midrange and the teeble sound abit unbalance but maybe because the bass is thin
Can you borrow amplification to try in the system? Sounds like it must be here if all connections are ok.
@suhila. You say
" i must say that the tracks were taken from the web so i dont know how good they are."

Maybe you are listening to Mp3 tracks which are 128 , 192 kbps. ? That what it sounds like to me. Mp3's cut at that rate often sound anemic in the bass
