KEF LS50W 2 - 110v vs 220v

Hey,
First time poster.  I live in the US but am currently in the EU visiting family.  Due to favorable exchange rates, I can get the KEFs at a significant discount to US retail, but am concerned about the 110v vs 220v power standards.  Is there any risk buying an EU model and just replacing the power cords with a standard three-pronged US power cord or using a converter?

Thanks!

Be sure to determine if the customs duty is being included in the total price you'll be paying.
From KEF website:

The LS50W uses a power supply that automatically senses the input voltage from your power outlet and adjusts
accordingly. The LS50W will operate at 110VAC/60Hz or 220VAC/50Hz without any switching required by the user.
Of course, you will need to have the appropriate socket adapter for your power outlet.
I'm assuming the ones you're looking at are 220vac? If they are not dual voltage, then you will most likely need a transformer.
