It is December 1, 2024 - Do you know where your Caladans are????

Anyone received their Clayton Shaw Caladans lately?   Speaker baffle supply was suppose to be in good shape starting sometime in November.

Coming up on 1 year since I placed an order for walnut Caladans.

Not a soul??  If in a month I still don't know either there will be a decision to be made.

A YEAR wait for a pair of $3500 speakers?

I understand supply chain back-logs, but that’s unacceptably poor.

I also understand they’re pretty good speakers, but come on, now....lots of speakers are "pretty good".

I just hope you haven’t built them up in your mind to be something they’re not and end up being disappointed in them. That would suck bad.

No offense, but that’s insane. I would have cancelled my order 9 months ago.

I like Clayton and his speakers but putting money out and waiting so long is a little nuts. Plenty of fish in the sea.

Hasn't Clayton provided a status update on the issue?  While parts are either available or not, providing periodic updates to your customers seems a basic "business 101" item.

$3500 speakers and you've waited over 1 yr! Maybe for 50 -75k speakers I'd wait that long but $3500? Call and request/demand your funds be returned. Not worth the anxiety IMHO

Last update I saw was a month ago from Clayton on his forum that nobody can join and nobody other than Clayton posts in anymore.

Hopefully that wasn't sent from his yacht off the coast of Tahiti.

I do hope it works out for you. Good luck.

Tahiti does sound good, especially in winter.

We are building and shipping like crazy, so we are getting through the backlog.

For shipment updates, watch for our ETA Update posts on our forum, instead of depending on the speculation found here. You are also welcome to contact me directly at any time at 801-631-2994 or info@claytonshawacousticlab.com

Best,

And what before my wonderous eyes should appear..........walnut baffle caladans.  Would post a picture if this forum didn't make that so hard to do.

Will be damned if I can find any bolts in the "Hardware" box to mount the legs and feet. #SMH

Nobody answering the phone at Clayton Shaw Acoustics Lab today.

Many really good sounding $3,500 speakers on the market (from reputable manufacturers) that you can buy without all the drama. But maybe his garage got flooded or hit by a hurricane or tornado.

Post removed

7 days later, no bag of bolts has been delivered.  USPS has lost the shipment evidently because they show it never left OK City.

Went to Lowe's and bought eight 1/4x20 bolts to mount the leg braces.   Robbed the four GAIA feet off another speaker I already own that also used the 1/4x20 GAIA bolts (which are proprietary and can't be purchased at a hardware store) and got the speakers up and running.

They are still in the break in period in my workshop, 144 hours as of this morning. Clayton recommends 200+ hours. So far they sound amazing. I’ve got zero complaints about how they sound. Bass is excellent and highs are sparkly (I’m not good at describing sound, but know when it sounds good). Don’t think any subwoofer will be required once they are moved into the main system. For sure one is not needed in my workshop.

Ten days later, January 13, 2025, the bolts and nuts to attach the GAIA III feet arrive. Two day shipped via USPS on January 3, 2025, what a cruel joke our national post system is these days.
