Hooking up a NAD 3020 v2 to a PC

Hi, first time poster.

I just bought a NAD 3020 v2 integrated amplifier and have Celef (Proac speakers) to go along with it.

I hooked up the system to my PC by simply using the PCs audio out and plugging the cable to the auxiliary inputs on the NAD. Dumb question: Is there a way to bypass the soundcard from the PC and use NADs DAC instead? The PC doesn't have an optical output and the NAD doesn't have a USB port.

I am just trying to get the best sound using Qobuz on my PC. Thanks in advance.

you can buy a USB to Optical interface. googles your friend. that will also remove much of the noise from the pc.

Thanks glennewdick. After speaking to someone at Crutchfield, that is the recommendation I obtained also.

You can also get a simple stand alone DAC that has a USB port.  Something like a Schiit Modi+ ($129 new) or used for even less.  I would suspect that the Schiit DAC is probably better than the one in the NAD.

Double check your PC.  Lots of them have optical S/PDIF connectors hidden among the connectors.
