Holy Holostages!!

Full disclosure, I'm a tweaker. I've tried many different products that claim to improve the sound quality of your setup or tame the acoustics in your room. They have been carefully selected, all have a generous return policy. For example, LessLoss products have excellent price to performance numbers. F

Their Power Base & Speaker Base will blow your mind & their Firewalls for Loudspeakers move the needle considerably toward achieving an immersive, natural & relaxed stereo image. Synergistic Research's FEQ Carbon + 3 Carbon ATM's achieves a similar sonic effect by taking a different electronic approach.

This brings me to HeartSound Audio's Holostages. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to go swimming in your music? Well, that's exactly what Holostages do for your listening environment by eliminating even the most stubborn acoustic anomalies in your room. You are now in the middle of the performance that wraps around you entirely as it draws you closer & closer resulting in a dreamy sounding. How can these inconspicuous passive little black boxes have such a profound effect you ask? I don't have that answer except to say, they do!

Since Holos are so portable, it's easy to tune the room more to your liking. If you find the soundstage is too wide, tall or immersive & you prefer a more intimate club setting, the placement of another Holo or 2 closer to speakers or components can alter the image more to your liking. I have 1 on top of each Floorstander also. There is 1 Holo on top of both rear surround speakers. 1 set of 4 Holos will be plenty. As for the 2nd set of 4 Holos, I am experimenting with optimal locations.

Finally, the fact that I can easily hear the benefits of Holostages over the already effective LessLoss & SR acoustical treatments speaks a lot about what this product is capable of. Holostages are future proof & can enhance the sound of any 2ch stereo system. They really are that good!

These are only my initial impressions of the HoloStages after 36hrs of listening. And to the skeptics, don't knock 'em if you haven't tried 'em. However, I already know how your experience will turn out.

More later on the addition of 2nd set of Holostages.

gdaddy1,

I don’t know what it was you saw demonstrated in Tampa, but it was not the Holostages. Krissy has never been there, nor have her products been shown there.

What do you have to lose besides money? Probably nothing. Maybe self esteem. You never know.

"Krissy is very responsive & will take good care of you.

Thanks, comforting.

As for the above references to the Miller Carbon review, I reached very similar conclusions before I even read that review. My advice, for what it's worth, is to give them a try. 60 day return policy. Excellent customer service. Fast shipping. Krissy is very responsive & will take good care of you. So, if the various improvements that are beginning to come in sound appealing is to you, give Holostages a try in your system. I am quite confident you will be pleasantly surprised!

The exact content inside each Holostage is proprietary(1). But it is fair to say it is a complex(2) matrix of piezoelectrically(3) active crystals(4), nano size(5) rare earth elements(6), and cryogenically(7) treated isomeric water(8).

In other words, it's a tiny 3" box of dirt.  Don't open it!!! The magic will escape into thin air!

I saw these demonstrated at the Tampa audio show.  The room was FULL of people. Strange wierd looking people. Standing room only. What's going on here??? They set all the little boxes out in the hallway and brought them into the room one by one.

I heard nothing as the salesman went in and out of the room placing them.

I thought it was ridiculious BUT I was shocked, after the demonsration how many people stepped up and bought them. One guy bought 2 sets for $2000. I saw him later at the valet stand and asked him if he heard a difference in the sound? He said " No, but maybe they work. I don't know but I'm going to try them." He was laughing about it and was clearly hopeful the boxes would do something. He got in his Mercedes and drove off. The target customer was he.

Snakeoil works. You just have to believe (and have some money to burn.)

Marketing word salad from the MC write-up:

The exact content inside each Holostage is proprietary(1). But it is fair to say it is a complex(2) matrix of piezoelectrically(3) active crystals(4), nano size(5) rare earth elements(6), and cryogenically(7) treated isomeric water(8).

  1. we could tell you but then we would have to…well, you know…
  2. can’t really explain the complexity to the average person
  3. can be used to generate sparks, hence the fireproof enclosure
  4. as opposed to the more mundane passive crystals
  5. 2.5 times smaller than a strand of DNA
  6. not the band from Detroit
  7. probably during the ice age
  8. In water must be ortho or para, otherwise just spin (how appropriate)

Two important things to note, first, like most of this stuff, more is better and, second, conveniently you can use MC Cable Cradles to support them.

I have several of the Holostages in my home system and the sound just keeps getting better. There is now more texture and articulation of the vocals with wonderful results. More tonal density and decay of note. Maybe most important us the lowering of the noise floor. My system is so quiet between tracks. People who have llistened to my system have commented that my system doesn't sound digital at all. I can literally hear the singers lips separate before the vocalist starts to sing on many tracks. I just heard this yesterday when playing Dean Martin sing White Christmas. This was on a Christmas compilation disc with Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole and not an audiophile disc either.

For less cash but a similar audio "swimming" euphoria couldn't I just listen to it in surround sound ?

They must be good, look who is recommending them:

Tetrault Audio’s Holostages are a revelation, and highly recommended.

Now why on earth would I want to take the thing apart? Besides, they contribute so much!
