That’s disappointing but not surprising
the part that KANTO is minimizing is that the “odd” model number KANTO YU active speakers were the “first generation” (V1) models floated out there . The next generation V2 were “even number “ YU models…and so on.
ISSUE:
these Active speakers have a minimalist build Class D preamp and power amplifier built into one of the speakers, with a connecting speaker cable to the other stablemate passive speaker.
This “active” powered unit is generally not a repairable simply because:
- there are no serviceable repair parts for these YU models - its generally just swap-in and swap-out flimsy soldered mother boards built to the cheapest pricepoint .
- Just like with AVR’s, the OEM won’t carry spare replacement motherboards( (if they carry any MB’at all ….) for any unit other than the current model units still under warranty…. Full stop. As such, there are no spare parts YU-3 boards available, period for, old discontinued model YU3’ = and thus no pro tech can help you out . intuitively, having a tech Frankenstein-ing parts from another unit is time and cost prohibitive exceeding its FMV, if those pre-owned unit old model parts can even be sourced at all.
TAKEAWAY:
Discard and replace with an upgrade via different choice.
