Garrard 60hz Strobed platter

To be honest, I have a Garrard 301 with a strobe platter, and using the KAB speed checker is far more accurate. 

My question is, can I utilize a much easier to source 50hz strobed platter

What platter do you have now?

Just use the KeyStrobe. I believe the 60Hz platters weren’t made as well as the 50Hz ones.

Currently, I have the original, non strobed platter. Admittedly, I like the aesthetics of that warm orange glow. 

My question is, can I utilize a much easier to source 50hz strobed platter and change the setting on the keystrobe light from 60 to 50hz, which it affords the user to do?

Yes, you can buy a 50Hz strobe light online or DIY .

Mechanically, it's very similar to my old Thorens TD124. It had markings on the bottom of the platter, a mirror so you could see it, and a light. I needed speed adjustment for sure, so I certainly understand you wanting this, I just caution you not to do anything rude to the TT, find a temporary solution, keep looking, eventually acquire the other platter.

I found, I always had to let the motor warm up, the bearing juice to ..., adjust to steady, play, and surprisingly often, when changing lp's, need to make a very slight adjustment. We are sensitive to improper speed, however, very small variations: I tried to pay attention, could I hear if it was spot on or not when approaching. The majority of the time, myself and others, we were unaware of the small variations these TT's drift in/out of. IOW, perhaps do nothing until you finally find the other platter.

Minimize potential power fluctuations with external transformer, power supply ...?

Thank you all who took  the time to read my post and had some useful insight to provide. An update to this post; I was able to source an original Garrard 60hz strobed platter that will be here sometime next week. I also picked up a keystrobe light that fits into one of the holes for the chassis bolts. Now all I have to do is find someone in the Los Angeles area who would be able to mount and wire it up, as I have some reservations on taking on an audio DIY on such a beautiful and expensive piece of gear.

Do a sound quality check on both platters. Let them spin for 20 mins before testing.
