Does anyone know who makes

Kuzma CAR cartridges? I'm told they are made for Kuzma in Japan but by whom?

Actually - I'm not sure now.  Kuzma's website doesn't name the company  - just says a Japanese company with 50 yrs of experience.

Cartridges - Kuzma Professional Turntables, Tonearms and Accessories

Probably Excel Corporation - they make Hana cartridges. Save a lot of money and get that new $1300 Hana instead of a $4K Kuzma!
I do not particularly care for Kuzma cartidges or Hana for that manner. People buy them because they are cheap which is fine. But, IMHO moving magnet and moving iron cartridge's own the under $3000 market. Moving coils do not start getting competitive until they reach $4000. They are less dynamic and they do not track as well. They come into their own with a current mode phono stage and ultra low impedance.
Then then is the The Stain Gauge cartridge. Could it surpass everything?
My daughter lives in NYC. On the way down to visit her we are going to stop by Soundsmith and have a listen. Should be a lot of fun.
I am perfectly content with staying in the under $3k MI cartridge market.

means I can spend more on my Ducati and Aprillia.
mijostyn - There's also the DS Audio optical system. As a displacement generator, the RIAA is (not) handled differently than PL's Strain Gauge.

Quite the bold statement regarding inexpensive MCs! Wish I had more experience with the Pickering, Stanton, ADC & MA pickups of the day as I hear they were explosively capable. Seems like Grado (and SoundSmith) are attempting to carrying that torch with purpose these days. Also glad to see AT stepping up the stylus game on their 95 series - not leaving it all to Clearaudio.

Yes, I'm a Transimpedance disciple :-)
